U can use coconut shell to brush it, first apply kerosine on liquid candle. Works like a charm for the timber floors

I can totally relate to what Mawii said about the shiny wooden floors. While I was in a boarding school, we used to scrub/shine the floors with coconut husks after applying candles melted in hot kerosene oil, much like the Danish oil, although a lesser and cheaper alternative it might be.

That brick masonry (brick on edge) without RCC frame is not an earthquake proof Mr. Kip. Mizoram is seismically active zone. The steel and concrete need to do some work in damping the earthquake load. Full brick work with proper key just for ground floor or one extra floor above with proper foundation may be allowed.

It's not coconut shell it's ram lakhuih rah kawr we use to clean the floor in our floor in our childhood but i never seen it it now. I used to know because my gran father grew them in his grarden before

Mawii wasn't wrong. There's also coconut shell as well. We used to skate with the coconut shells to polished our wooden floor. Seeing the wooden floor here brings back childhood memories. I missed this kind of floor, SHINY WOODS!
