Mizoram's first jeep was a Land Rover that served as bus service in Aizawl: Mizo history recreation

This is a history of the historical developments in Mizoram until 1960. The performers show us the costumes of Mizoram, and the characteristics of the people, over the years. In Mizoram state, the first vehicle was brought in by Mr. Rochhinga along Sairang Road which they ploughed with a shovel.
The first Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru visited Mizoram in 1953. He also inaugurated a road from Aizawl to Lunglei.
At this time, the kinship among Mizo society had broken down, and the people had a lot of development to do in their region. As you can see, the western dresses of the characters here are influenced by the ingress of English missionaries, thus influencing their clothing and dressing choices. They thus dressed like western people. In 1960, the first jeep was bought and owned by Kawlkunga and it was a Land Rover which served as the first bus service in Aizawl, Mizoram!
