I'm so thankful to all the artists and team who made this documentary!! ❤ I'm from Gujarat, and I was astonished by the similarities between sindhi folk songs and gujarati folk songs. Forget abut rhythm, tunes, beats even certain words were also exactly same. I can sing along "khamma mara nand ji na lal, morli sha ne vagadi"! You can separate the land not the people and culture, I hope common people will support these artists and revive the culture which defined these lands for thousands of years. Love to all ❤

This documentary deserves to go viral, especially in South Asia. The quality of photography and sound recording is perfect. The masterly editing does not allow the unhurried pace of the film to slacken even for a minute. The erudition and curatorship that inspire the piece are dazzling. Most of all, the director's love for his people and their culture permeates every moment of the film. Finally, as an Indian, I would like to add that the film highlights our similarities and shows us how close we remain even after 76 years of barbed wire and bayonets. Congratulations, best wishes, and much love from India. 🇮🇳🤗🇵🇰

I am not sure how to express my feelings after watching this docu. Let's start with appreciation and happiness. Brilliant docu. Eceptional work by Jawad bhai and your team. Next, sad part. If any of these artists are forced to give up on their art then it's not just a loss to Pakistan only but a loss to entire humanity. It will prove that humanilty is chasing expensive but worthless pursuits and giving up on treasures of the world. The entire music world, disregarding the boudaries set-up by politicians, must come to the rescue of these artists and artisans. It may be painful but as rightly pointed out by a gentleman in this docu, perhaps more exposure of these artists to the western world, may help them and the art to survive. In my humble opinion, collaborations like Coke Studio, Nescafe Basement, Lahooti etc may also help by fusing these traditional folk music with modern musical art. I sincerely wish that more Pakistanis begins to appreciate these folk art and sees them as their own rather than that of their enemy's. And we, on this side of the barbed fence, will eagerly wait for such artists to flourish and have their work uploaded on SM platforms like KZbin so that we too can enjoy such beauties. Salam and dua from India. Just to add. These are truly the art/music of god which takes years, if not decade to learn and master. In their own true word, they still learn.

Luckily that part of the border has remained unaffected since partition and also unaffected by partition. Since it was in the desert, migrating to India only meant suicide in the deeper desert so the people stayed exactly where they were an exactly how they were. The Thar desert is soley and only the northern part of Rajasthan, just like an arm leftover of a larger body of the desert. Thar is Rajasthan. there is actually no difference except an imaginary live which exists only for humans, all the birds belonging to the area are there free to roam their huge desert.

Wonderful film! Occasions are so rare to see beautiful people of Pakistan! For those who never saw the film "Latcho Drom", please do! It's a 100% musical film, no dialogue. It starts in Rajasthan and travels all the way to Andaloucia in Spain. So in Indus Blues, the very colorful men dressed in orange, really reminded me of Rajasthan where it all started it seems like. We could really feel their "Gypsy" style. Yes narrow minded religious people are killing the beauty of humanity. Let's play music and dance!

Never seen a film after 'Latcho Drom (1993)' which was so attached to just music. Even Latcho Drom failed to portray a musicians real sorrow, real sufferings, real crying, this film do. Blessed, it's a milestone to me to witness some of the greatest musicians even to be born in our last planet for humankind. I wish to write a thousands of words on this film, on this musicians, on our thinking. Never know the philosophy of Jogi's, and basically there is no classical musicians who play been. Witnessed hundreds of thousands of musicians play flute, never seen anyone play been. It was like taboo to me until I've finished the film. Now, I can relate the yogi's philosophy. How the feed their baby snake's venom is unbelievably pure. Never know from where all of those instruments comes from, What they wanna tell to us, whether it is Baluchistan's land or Peshawar or the musicians heart that we torture's by our so called 'haram' term. Well, I have a question, 'is raining sound haram?'. I wish I were The great Akbar and make someone as Tansen II. I wish some art fellow will try to save them, I don't know how they survive in Sweden or Norway, because they born in their land, in their nature. And, the land gives them music, the wood and the water for instruments. But, we need to save them before all real jewel vanish! If I ever see a 'Murali been' classical musician in my lifetime, life will be blank less. and love will never die for sure. Nature won't survive without rain's music, wind's music, river's music, everything that ensembles them, how human will survive without music? We should save Music and Musicians along with their beloved instruments.

This beautiful film was clearly a labour of love by all those involved. Its powerful and very sad beginning where a handful of extremists try to stop musicians from performing. The journey alomg the Indus is beautifully covered from the north to the sea. It is sad how a few in the name of religion are trying to end the thousand year old culture of music of the Indus Valley. The resilience of musicians, their dedication to this art form is so well captured in this film. It is shameful the apathy of the State is doing nothing to save, promote and keep this culture and tradition of music and musicians. Thank you for this film. I am sharing it on social media.

Didn’t knew that such instruments and such sounds exist in this country. The director’s depiction of sunset in the background adds so much emotions to all these melodies.

After watching this documentary, I'm not sure whether I should be happy or sad. The majority of Pakistanis are unaware of the country's vibrant musical culture. Indus Blues is an accurate representation of our musical heritage. The type of struggle that folk musicians face, as well as the fear of losing their forefathers' art due to a lack of opportunities, elicits a wide range of emotions. Outstanding work! For me this serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of supporting and elevating these talented folk/traditional musicians so that their rich musical heritage can be enjoyed by future generations.

A voice of reason film that in the name of music and its traditions speaks out against religious and political bigotry and intolerance as contrary to the basic nature of humankind. A documentary worthy of high honors.

British government was a huge sponsor of local art and artists. They worked hard to set up museums and cultural centers. What we see now is the product of Islamists and Hindutvadis both attacking artists from Pakistan.

Story telling, locations, words of the folk songs, picturization of the awesome architecture , self explanatory hostile response recordings, the way the music instruments were being played by the men; totally immersed in the aura ... Everything is commendable.
