He needs to be put into a turtle vest for a few days in county so that he can see just how bad life can REALLY suck, sometimes. I understand the fear of jail. I went once in my early 20’s for fighting. Worst 36 hrs of my life. Haven’t had so much as a speeding ticket since, and didn’t have one prior and no other interactions with law enforcement other than that one very stupid decision. Learned my lesson the hard way, but I for sure learned it. My brother was in and out of jail for years for substance issues and multiple traffic violations (suspended license, expired tag, no insurance, stuff like that). The last time he was in he was picked up on a warrant for non-payment of traffic fines and he had a weed pipe on him. That was in January. He was jumped after only being in there for a day and had his arm broken. He was sent to the jail infirmary where someone made the genius idea of putting him in a cell with a schizophrenic, unstable man with a CANE. He nearly beat my brother to death. Fractured his eye socket and he was sent to our local trauma center to have a plate put into his face. He had a traumatic brain injury as well. It not only physically hurt him, it messed him up mentally. He died in a single car accident in which he ran off of the road and the car was engulfed in fire on June 6th. We don’t know if he fell asleep (he was on his way to work at 4am), or if he had a seizure, or if it was intentional and we won’t ever know due to the extent of his injuries. I’ll forever feel like the jail situation killed him, though. He wasn’t a bad guy and he did his best to stay out of trouble. But once all those fines and stuff pile up like his did it’s HARD to get out of that hole, especially when you’re broke. He never had any violent offenses. When he was on probation he stuck to it but eventually went back to weed…This guy claims he will do anything to not go to jail but his actions say otherwise. He reminds me of an abusive partner that threatens to end their life if you want to get out of the relationship.
