Lets just be glad that BBW was able to build the boats that they did. They are long-lasting and fantastic boats!

@EastCoastYachtSales do you think there's a difference between BBW built and the ones from the new factory in Washington NC?

Why in the HELL do you need 3 engines on a 50 footer ?

A key design elements for the MJM was to have the side door close to floating dock height, a single-level deck from cockpit to companionway, keep the center of gravity low, and have incredible running performance. In order to achieve this MJM wanted stay with the Volvo IPS600 engine because the next size up (IPS950) engine is much taller, heavier, with an overall lower power-weight ratio. By going for the triple IPS 600 It allows the weight of the boat to stay low, eliminates the hazardous step in the middle of the boat all while increasing the power-weight ratio by 22% over the twin IPS 950. The MJM is an offshore performer with the highest available offshore safety rating of CE category A. She also is a boat that can cruise easily and efficiently at 34 knots, all while keeping your swim platfrom to bring a tender. If you want all that, you want 3 engines on a 50 footer!

The 3 engines are just as efficient as 2 engines. It takes the same amount of horsepower to break the resistance of the water. The two engines will be working harder than three engines to do the same thing. And, you go faster.
