At 4:14 it looked like Bob was nodding his head like he knew what his guardian was talking about! I just want to give Bob a big hug for all the good work he's done for and with his guardian! He looks a lot like my cat. My cat though, would never sit on my shoulder for more than a second! Good work Bob! Love the book, too

Hi James and Bob, have just read your first book and what a wonderful story, It reminded me of my two cats who both recently passed away. its a joy to follow your story and I send love and joy to you both. You have changed my outlook towards the homeless and taught me a whole new way to look at the homeless your story so inspired me that I recently befriended a young man that I met in hospital when we were both in a mental hospital both in difficult places and now I am helping him as much as I can to rebuild his life. He is now out of hospital and living in supported housing and I continue to help him as much as I can like you he is an ex addict but a bit like Bob changing your life this young man has changed mine. Thank you for helping me to understand what it is like to be homeless and uncared for and thanks to Bob for giving you the love that you needed when no one else was their for you. I wish you both the best and so much love. Fran xx

I think the interviewer asking if he'll be able to cope after bob dies was really unprofessional. He's talking to someone who has been through such an emotionally traumatic time and even though he is now in a place where he is healthy and living a better life, he will feel the emotional effects of that time for the rest of his life. When that cat was the one thing that managed to pull him out of the dark place he was in, talking about that cat's death is something that would likely be very distressing. You even see James get uncomfortable as soon as the interviewer asks and even his co host seems to think that it wasn't appropriate
@poohspaws89766 жыл бұрын
SmashCubeGaming Yes, I am with you, that’s a dangerous question. I almost wanted to cry just watching him react to the question. It is clearly a question that has crossed his mind, but that is so deeply sensitive, I don’t think it has a place in an interview. That’s for him and a therapist to talk about, as far as long term healing at some point, but has no place in a televised interview. Hard enough as it is, can we not throw in the idea of when Bob is no longer around. A bit of sensitivity screening on those questions would have been appropriate. Journalism isn’t always the most tactful profession.
@snaggletooth58446 жыл бұрын
You're definitely right. I even noticed James getting a little Angry when he said that as he rested his arms looking at the guy asking him about it. I think one shouldn't ever ask such a thing . I know it's their job to ask things but asking such a thing is very impolite, rude and disrespectful of him. He may have not intended however it was still a little rude of him and he should know that it's his job fgs

@@poohspaws8976 True. I'm not sure was this the same or another, but James mentioned this tough question in his second book and he said that he got emotional from it, but then he collected himself and gave the answer he gave in this interview.

've just finished reading the book. I was so sad as my fiancé has just gone to his country. So I went to a libary here in order to buy a book to a friend of mine, so I saw your book and got impressed with the picture of a beautiful cat. My fiance and I have a passion for cats, and instead of sayng "good bye" we say "meow". It is so stupid, but we dont care. Your book brought me some comfort. Hugs from Brazil!

I have an orange cat. I call him Ollie the fire cat. In the winter he looks like a flame dashing across the snow. This is a great story. I do think it was mean for them to suggest Bobs death, and the pain James showed was heart wrenching. Let’s hope Bob has a long life. James is someone that animals love because his sensitivity and caring is so apparent.

It was a legitimate question. Not an easy one to ask, but I've wondered it and I'll bet 90% of people who read the book wondered too. I've heard of indoor cats living up to 26 years, while my friend's cat just died at 12. The average lifespan is 12-14, and Bob is probably 8 years old + by now. I hope Bob is one of those cats that lives 20+ years, but you never know.

What a stupid, unkind question-coping after Bob dies. This is in 2013 and Bob being a young cat. I would have replied, the oldest cat on record is 36 years old. I had a couple of idiots say this to me when my kitties were in their teens, and was disgusted. Just yelled "No...............I don't like your question." Wanted to say "How will you feel when your child or children die......?"
