Every year I watch The Last Samurai. The story, the staging, the actors, the action, every scene and the music are fantastic. One of my absolute favorite films. The film has so much heart and feeling like no other. He's one of my top 3 favorite films EVER and the soundtrack as well.

yes I have always say that if the music is done right and placed in the right spot in a scene it can capture the emotions of the characters and really bring you into a good part in the last Samurai is right after the fight in the village were the main characters are talking and there's the blooming of the flowers and then another scene where the soldiers are cutting top knot that big part with string instruments is amazing another part is were he detoxing in the village and another is when he starts to drink again but leaves and fight those guys who were sent after him. and it can go for video games as well. my niece plays the viola and she is amazing she doesn't like playing it but if she keeps it up she could get a scholarship

also the movie is loosely based of a real life I think he was Irish or Scottish. have you watched the documentary on how the samurai sword is made it's amazing and it's a long process there not made to that level anymore as far as I know

Outstanding. Only hans Zimmer could gave birth to this masterpiece. The movie is like a body, the scenary is like a mind, but the music, the music is the soul of entire movie!!!

This arrangement, this wonderful piece, SCREAMS for a bass line. It loses something without the tuba.
