My favorite are the ones when Opie was little and from time to time he would be facing a whipping but Andy would trust his little boy and low and behold Opie would bring out the tender side of Andy. Quality entertainment. The new shows of today just do not have the writing talent of old. Too much today protrays father's as dumb with smart elick kids. No talent. The deteriorating of families isn't fun to watch on sitcoms. Thank God for Mayberry reruns.

@janetbonner87353 жыл бұрын
Hello, Sherry.. Which characters were based on Mt. Airy characters? I always thought Mayberry was based on Mt. Airy, so I was surprised that he said it wasn't. Why do you think that was, especially in light of the things you mentioned.

I think he was trying to convey that he appreciates Mt Airy for being Mt Airy and not for any resemblance it might have to the fabled Mayberry, which is idyllic as a function of the show. No real town could ever compare and shouldn’t try; I think that was his paint.
