2020 and bloody corona virus has stopped production of Neighbours, we are limited to two episodes a week in the UK. Oh how I hate this virus. However, good to have found this and seen the old characters, the sing song at the end was surprisingly good.

I've never seen this before. The Royal Variety Performance was shown on a rival network and the Neighbours segment was edited out.

I think that as host, Kylie would have been the first or last performer. Her introduction implies that this was neither. You couldn't really have Jason in this without her. Stefan Dennis sings better in this than he did in his short-lived pop career. I think that Paul Keane (Des) looks a bit like Adam Hills with larger ears.

Nope- always been once a day and still took the UK over 30 years to catch up and eventually overtake us- now you all get the episodes first and our station is desperately trying to catch up with double episodes to have them finish on the same day 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

Doubtful. The quality of the sketch notwithstanding, travelling from Australia to appear at the London Palladium as part of the Royal Variety Performance was likely a career highlight for them. It's not every day you perform for the Queen Mother. I bet they loved every minute. Who wouldn't?

Sanchordia Neighbours was already well established by this point. I don’t think they needed a 7 minute stage spot to help with their careers. Oh, and it may come as a surprise to you, but not everyone is a fan of the royals. Fuck the queen. She’s nothing more than a sponger.

Stefan Dennis has said in neighbours finishing interviews that the highlight was standing in the receiving line with the golden girls at this performance , the queen mother went down the line then doubled back after saying hello to the golden girls to speak to him again and ask for more juicy details of what is to come… she and Diana would watch the show together religiously

That was an abomination. Remember watching this at the time as back when I was 10 I used to think Neighbours was a real life depiction of your average Aussie. Subsequent years I stopped watching it when I soon realised just what a load of rubbish it really was. I'd sooner put pins in the eyes than watch that programme ever again.
