I own one of these and for me just starting out on flying drones. It was worth the money to me. I have bought cheap ones before from off the shelve in a toy section and this one is a Cadillac at flying compared to those. Even my kids can fly this one.

Great review as always! And thanks for being the only reviewer on KZbin to understand '2k' marketing ploy versus 1080p realities. This drone is just a little software development from a winner... meaning MJX needs to implement IMU-assisted EIS asap. In any case, there's no way it will sell well among informed consumers in light of the Zino and Fimi A3 which are currently less expensive at ~$230 on sale.

Those sensors Do work. And along with the GPS, wich measures altitude also, make a good team. You can see thy work when you try to land it on an irregular surface, like tree branches or a pile of dry grass.

I just got one of these. Mine is the VTI Phoenix DRC-LSX10 branding version. It came with two batteries and nifty carrying case. I think that the camera is adequate for recreational messing around for under $300. If you were going to do pro work you just need to spend more money. That's always been the case with photography. Better cameras and better lenses always cost $$$$.

What if you crash it? Is it now a paperweight cuz the bell is bent? The company said the don't sell replacement parts and that I need to purchase a new drone. Had the drone for 3 hours. Do your research

I have the Phoenix drone 36..3 year never flew it nephew said he can fly it hey did I told him not to go too high he was about 30 ft high lost control broke well cracked one of the legs I put gorilla glue don't know if it's going to work yet 8300 back in today I was so upset just want to let you know I have not much information on this yet if that holds I might try to fly it and if the camera works good I'll let you know

Truly amazing design and hardware to include the camera specs. This existing hardware is no doubt capable of gyroscopic (IMU-assisted) EIS, because the cheapest processor available (Ambarella A12W soc) is more than capable of adding a few bytes of IMU data to each frame in both streams (1080p30 to the SD card and 720p30 to the FPV feed). And that’s all that the drone’s processor needs to do, because the actual stabilization is done on your phone app or in post- using compatible plugins to read the gyroscopic metadata. But alas, the devs at MJX remain clueless about the modern, lightweight EIS that revolutionized the action cam space in 2018 including the Insta360 One X and GoPro Fusion. This is a shame because gyroscopic EIS would have bumped sales of the MEW4 by orders of magnitude, while fetching up to $230 USD due to the 180 degree gimbal.

These cheap drones all have poor quality cameras. I have the JJRC Heron and it also has a poor picture quality. A drone is a flying camera and if the camera is no good what's the point? I've had to buy a Firefly Q6 camera to stick on the Heron drone to get reasonable pics. In the end, spend the extra and get a decent DJI camera drone.

The camera is garbage :( it sure doesn't look very stable in the footage. It is bouncing all over the place. MJX has really been dropping the ball lately like most of the other "toy" drones this year.

@tom lewis word my buddy has the DJI SPARK it's only 1080p an looks better than that and i grabbed me a PARROT ANAFI 4K 21.1 MP with 2 batteries for just around 700 parrot was the first drone sporting the 21.1 MP at the end of 2018 going into 2019 an DJI shortly after with the Mavic pro 2 zoom just gotta be careful the ANAFI has no obstacle avoidance I've crashed it a few times an I just pick it up calibrate an go back it love the carbon composite body
