Craig, when you’ve put so much love into a build as you have with this one, that love becomes very contagious. The love and respect you are experiencing from (all) of your very good friends that have contributed bits to this build just shows how many good people are out there, and how much we ALL really respect your beautiful work. Live long and prosper buddy! 🖖

Hey Craig, new subscriber just found your channel, what can I say other than you are a superstar mate, I’m an expat in Oz trying to get the motivation back to get my 2 mk1’s restomodded and back on the road. Your channel and your awesome work has been an inspiration and how you and your other followers tackle the awkward problems in part availability and the fabrication of solutions is great, a true testimony to the love of these cars and keeping them alive. Keep up this awesome work and channel mate, truly inspirational for muppets like me who can only dream of doing a build like you. Respect….. Mick 👍🏻

Thanks very much Mick. Really hope the videos do help motivationally. That was my no1 reason for starting the videos in the first place. Hope you manage to get your restoration underway and if i can help in any way, just let me know. Cheers Mick 👍

Twin fan switch not on my mk1 RS 2000 just had thermostatic switch in the rad left hand side but I did put a switch in for that as a extra got it new straight from Ford had lots off problems with the rad

Not sure mine should have twin speed but ive fitted it anyways 😎
@tomthompson74003 жыл бұрын
It really is getting there . But its always that last wee bit that gets ya. If your cutting plugs etc you can stagger the lengths of the cut too , so all the joins are not in one place , saves you getting a big bulge if you fabric wrap the new loom , and its an even extra precaution against rubbing through or breaking as all the stiffer bits are not in one place .
@performanceclassics19863 жыл бұрын
I have actually staggered them in the past when I’ve had multiple joins and your absolutely right, it makes for a nice neat job. The most I had here was 4 cores so it wasn’t too bad. Didn’t have great lengths to work with either. I think a soldered joint is as good as it gets. Much prefer it to crimps. Thanks Tom.
@tomthompson74003 жыл бұрын
@@performanceclassics1986 believe it or not .. but they don't solder anything on aircraft .. it's all crimped ... I'm with you though .. I like solder
@performanceclassics19863 жыл бұрын
@@tomthompson7400 That’s strange. I would have thought they would want the best joint possible for aircraft. A properly soldered joint will break the cable elsewhere if tension is applied. Soldered joints are just so strong.
@tomthompson74003 жыл бұрын
@@performanceclassics1986 it's to do with wicking leaving a brittle part on the cable .. or so I'm told ..

@@tomthompson7400 very Interesting. The debate continues between solder and crimps 🤔. My vote will always be solder 😎

Absolutely right 👍 We shouldn’t have to but that’s the sorry state of parts quality these days. No quality control anymore unfortunately.

Great to hear Marty. I’m trying to keep as much originality as I can because i generally go too far with mods but that was never the plan for this car 👍

Hi,can I ash where did you get your dashboard trim from
@performanceclassics1986 Жыл бұрын
Hello Bob do you mean the carbon fibre trim?? I bought the genuine carbon fibre material and cut & Shaped it to the original trim dimensions. The dash top came from GS Escorts and is a new reproduction item that fits really well.
