I’ll be honest I actually thoroughly enjoyed MK11 over MKX. I like them more neutral based gameplay and more footsies the biggest problem was the break aways, the meter system and lack of combo options. The krushing blows were an awesome meta game imo.

For me, I don’t mind Kameos but I can get the frustration that comes with having these characters, some of who havent been playable since the ps2 era and not be playable, but I don’t mind. If they wanted to have the kameo system they could’ve done the MK9 route and just have the kameos be a member of the roster and let them use one of three specials when calling them but I really don’t mind the current set up. As for the customization, yeah I won’t lie it was something I spent time on mk11 grinding out for certain gear but when you compare the gear of MK11 to NRS previous game Injustice 2, the gear in MK11 pales in comparing due to how much more robust it was in that game though the customization was a welcome inclusion to MK and I do like it was brought back for MK1 somewhat though wish it wasn’t as limiting

I totally disagree with that exaggeration of 1000x bs more fun deadass, Mk11 has better online options, more fun things to do, The variation system is just better than the wack lazy and unoriginal kameo system, matter of a fact the whole kameo system is cheap version of marvel vs capcom series and king of fighters assist system, and those games did it better. Most fans didn't ask for this system. We didn't ask for basic B ugly downgraded Tanya, and Li mei, Nitara who were all hotties in previous appearances. They did them dirty, All of the characters body types are almost da same across da board, which is pathetic and weak, Da women with no body identity they all got generic similar body types, Whilst in mk11 many of da characters had differing body types,giving them individualistic apperances and character. Where sindell booty go huh? She had cake in mk11, now she is ethnic swapped and has no cheeks and hips wtf dude. I understand subs and scorps being identical because they are twins, at least havik body type is differing from most of da male cast, reptile,smoke generic and almost deadass da same, what da hell happened to swole asf Geras? I'm so glad you talked about the visual presentation of the violence. I mean it's Mortal Kombat for crying out loud. Also, I really don't like the more cartoony, bubbly blood effects in MK1. I'M TELLING YOU. I'd gladly take the blood effects from MK9, especially when it tends to stain a lot better during gameplay. The general art direction of MK1 is just honestly mid to weird for me. Not a fan. Also, I'm just tired of stories focusing too much on multiversal stuff and this obsession with alternate versions of existing characters. Hanzo will always be Scorpion to me.

The worst thing about Mortal Kombat 1 is the kameo system. I remember a lot of people giving NRS backlash over that before the game came out. To me, it just doesn't fit Mortal Kombat. This game has never been an assist based fighter, ever, in the over 3 decades the franchise has existed. I'm fine with changing things up every new game, but making a huge change like that was just a bad idea. I play Mortal Kombat to fight 1 versus 1. If I wanted to play an assist fighting game, I'd play Marvel VS Capcom. Another thing Mortal Kombat 1 is ruining is the klassic characters. What's with all the gender swapping in this game? Nobody asked for that or wants it. People want actual female characters in the game, and instead of NRS doing that, they put gender swapped characters in the game, which to me feels lazy.

Is crazy! MK1 gameplay is technically better but I still hate it and rather play mk11 because of MK1. All the characters do the same move 3 and 4 times to do a combo. When you see Omni Man you know he about to drag somebody across the floor. When you see Sub-Zero you know you going to see that ice hammer three times in a row. Baraka shao Khan you about to see the same. Same three moves over and over again in every combo. Scorpion only has like two or three combo starters. I still hate it lol

I NEVER understood the hate mk11 got I loved the hell out of that game. And they weren’t super stingy with content either. My biggest issue was the story (mk1 has a worse one) And the fact that every map was just dark and bland And now they’ve introduced a multiverse which I hated but I held out hope that they’d use it for something interesting But it was actually just an excuse to heavily change characters and concepts and avoid backlash Give me my og cyrax I genuinely can’t comprehend why we’d get gender bent versions of characters when they have such a wide range of women to add already Or they could’ve just made new ones. A lot of mortal Kombat youtubers admit they love the gameplay the problem is the lack of content. invasions mode could’ve been fun , it sounded so awesome on paper but awful execution. Krypt was like an open world almost to conquest level and everyone was expecting the next mk will have a conquest instead we get invasions. Kameos should’ve been an option to choose not everyone wants to have a 2v2. There are no stage fatalities stage interactions or stage transitions which makes the stages feel dry. Yk what could’ve made invasions fun? To make it an online Mario party. Imagine using the mini games they just added to invasions plus if they don’t wanna make motor combat a full mode they can just make one as a Mario party level. And whoever wins let’s say 20 rounds of mini games Mario party they get the newest skin. They have the board game and mini games to do it .

This video is my introduction to your channel and I couldn't agree more. MK1 was one of my most anticipated games of last year. The Big 3 (Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, and Tekken) were all releasing new titles within a short span of time. While SF and Tekken have surpassed every previous game, respectively, I hated MK1 from the start, and was angry at myself for pre-ordering a digital copy because now I can't return it. I hated having to relearn my favorite characters (like why don't they have same special moves and inputs?!), Invasion Mode pales in comparison to Towers of Time (it's not good AT ALL), the online mode is sub-par, and they got rid of the character customization! I was so hyped for MK1 that I convinced all my friends who had MK11 to "upgrade." Now whenever one of them asks to play it (because they spent their money), I begrudgingly have to oblige their request cuz I'm the reason they got it in the first place. They think I don't like the game because I suck, but I let them win because the game sucks. I don't care about winning, cuz I DON'T WANT TO PLAY. MK1 looks pretty, but that's the only thing it has going for it.

Saying mk11s gameplay is more fun when break away and the wake up system, flawless block being able to steal back your turn after your minus, unreactable fatal blows with no animation with push back that sometimes weren’t punishable because of it, lack of anti airs so jumping was op, crushing blows that were inconsistent, and there were barely any fun combos.

Everyone's start up animation takes like 2 years and the flow of combat is extremely passive. The only thing Mk11 lacks is combos. The push back on the fatal blows could also be used to get away and sometimes you shouldn't be able to react to certain attacks. Every fatal blow in Mk1 has little to no incentive because they're all slow as fuck and reactable. There's no challenge in that, they literally made the game piss easy for everyone. The game got ruined when they allowed automatic fatal blows under 30% health because any noob will just mash both triggers. That lame shit started in Mk11 and it's still in Mk1. Also everyone had an anti air. There wasn't a single character without one

Read if you want I love mk11 more than mk1, mk1 has a better story mode for me, but mk11 has alot of things, costumes, gears, heck the auguments, what do you call those things where the 3rd augument of the gear after you max it? Yea you can use it in single player(Klassic towers and towers of time), like 60% less meter cost for scorpion's teleport and spear, and noob saibots 100% recover after rising shadow kick. I love though, and the consumables, the assists consumables, i love them. But this is just my opinion

Hey man, absolutely great video. My gripe with the game is that you can see so many examples of them trying to screw you over in MK 1 and being forced to fix it. Like with the shop and how it used to not display if something was available in the shrine. MK1 was an unfinished product with a quarter of the content that MK11 had. WB rushed the game out for a quick cash grab. There’s still content on MK11 that I can unlock on there now and I haven’t played the game in a minute. Nowadays it’s normal to rush out and release unfinished games and worry about patching things up as they go. That’s the age we live in in gaming and it’s completely ruined the user experience. Never mind the prices of games went up, the dlc that comes after the base game. I didn’t cop MK1 yet and I purposely waited til the expansion to drop.

Ive said it since day one that Kameos shouldn't exist. But since theyre here, the best way to balance them is make them like assist from other fighting games. As in they can obly be used a certain amount of times (MVC1), can be killed permanently (MVC2), and not be tied to a stupid varying regeneration meter which was the main issue in 11. Basically you can do Shoryuken with Ryu all day while Honda does a flying headbut to keep you safe. Then you back away and chuck hadoukens until you can use Honda again. It creates such a degenerate way to play and that was never the intent for the gameplay. And if were going to allow idiots to back away and zone all game, at least do a GG and apply a negative penalty. Drain meter or something to keep the fight interesting. Its such a drag watching pros play this game. You wanna see combos and refined gameplay. But instead we get Scorpion spinning a spear for chip until Jax comes and does an unblockable all Game LONG. Zzzzz. I can deal with monetization, invasions, no training online, all that irrelevant nonsense, but the gameplay can be much better. At least there isn't 8 gun characters again.

MK1 (even though it was supposed to be injustice 3) could’ve had so much potential. It’s just a shame that the game is so unfinished. Unlike many other fans of MK, I didn’t get to grow up with it or played previous games before MK1 released. I found out about the franchise when MK1 first released in September 2023 and fell in love with it ever since and it made me buy MKX and MK11 (both combined for only 16€ only lol) so seeing MK1 flop so hard makes me a bit sad but yet again, unfinished games shouldn’t be released. I wish NSR would listen to us. I really wanna play this game in the future and actually enjoy it.

I disagree with thinking Towers Of Time is better than Invasions. I played over 67 Hours of MK 11 and those character specific towers SUCK. Towers aren't difficult but the problem is you have to do the specific other challenge to unlock the previous, sound simple. But after you beat one stage for scorpion (as an example) and I want to switch it to another character, I have to do all of that said grinding again for that other character. All because I wanted to get other characters cosmetics, even fully going through all 4 stages to get NEARLY everything (You can't get everything in the characters towers as they are locked behind Kombat Seasons, Krypt or the Item Shop, which I didn't know about since I played the game when AFTERMATH just got released.) You still have to do that for EVERY SINGLE CHARCTER, its a longer grinder mess and even if you wish to equip those intros or outros after a round in online. nine times out of ten, the opponent is going to automatically skip the intro as they have already seen it before. Making the whole grind, kinda feel useless. The problem I have with Towers of Time is while you can get stuff only in the krypt, its all RANDOMIZED after you get everything, the other half of the cosmetics are locked behind Towers of Time, so you have to go through the madness of Towers either which way. With every reward in Towers being randomized, it plain sucks. While MK 1 isn't perfect by any means. At least if I play as said character, I can get cosmetics for that said character while fighting through invasions or even in normal towers. That is at least my experience.

I 100% agree. I fully prefer MK11 aesthetic and graphics / skins / character models/ lighting. MK1 reduced three voice line intros to two, it reduced customization to one piece from 3, it removed the Krypt, it removed the ability to change your outfits when picking your character, it removed the ability to swap abilities and make character presets, it removed the ability to see outfits and gear you didn’t unlock yet (because they had none when the game dropped) it’s a downgrade in *SO* many ways. While you're generally right, I think the MK1 initially being Injustice 3 just doesn't make any sense. NRS AND MK are literally owned by Warner Bros, so they don't need any licensing. The FB and intro animations I think were just a clever way of reusing animations. The only reason for WB to interfere and make them do MK1 is because MK just makes more money. While we don't have accurate sales figures for the Injustice games, by the point of MK1's development, both MKX and 11 had sold more than 10 million copies
