MK1 - New Kung Jin KP3 Kameo or Main Roster? (Mortal Kombat 1)

Great video! I’m definitely interested in seeing Kung Jin either as a Kameo or a Main Roster character. He’s an exciting character with a lot of potential. A part of me wants to see him in the main roster, but I also think his Kameo role could add a lot of uniqueness to MK1. Either way, I’m excited to see how they’ll develop him in future content!

i see people comparing this to what happened with ermac in mk11 so i feel like its not unfair to assume this means hes not coming just based on track record. but like everyone else, im just speculating so i could be wrong. i think something else to note is that a few of those lines from cassie kung jin and jade were incorrectly listed in the code and were later reused in other characters lines. the "youre not who i want nibbling on me" line was changed to be takedas and the jade line where she says "thats so sad for you" was changed to be for cyrax. i dont recall if any of kung jins lines were changed to be for someone else or not and obv yeah some of them really couldnt be reused for anyone else (i.e., the line between cassie and nitara about being just like her dad). i think my takeaway from all that is that the code that is put in for later dlc is entirely without context, WE might see things listed as being for cassie or kung jin but those might just be codenames put in spots intended for other characters, we really truly dont know. idk, for me i keep going back and forth on what i believe. i dont want to huff too much copium because im afraid im going to be disappointed but i really do see both sides of the debate, i think there is merit to thinking its over and also merit to thinking theres more to come and that we just dont know it yet. thanks for the vid!

Amazing comment. Fair point on Ermac in MK11 in comparison to seeing this as well since they're sharing art, I dont think there was datamined ermac dialogue but I still see your point. Good call out on other characters recycling some of the others, and now that makes me wonder if that adds more validity to Kung having a shot if his isn't used, or if his has already been used now too. Sometimes I catch intro dialogues I haven't heard before. This was an awesome comment, and thank you for hanging out in the stream tonight ✊

BTW I see your point too and I'm the same way right now. I really can see both sides but I'm trying not to let myself get consumed in belief incase its a letdown because either way I still see either outcome as possible.

@@ScottyKombat lol im def hoping for the best. would love to see a kp3 and would absolutely welcome it. but if that doesnt pan out, i hope that they instead use that time to polish up the story and things for mk2. i dont mind waiting longer if that means the end result is higher quality

@@fs0598 absolutely this. If the light is still green for MK1 then heck yeah please do impress us and deliver. However, if WB called it then I say don't waste anymore time. I'll enjoy what we have and I look forward to the next MK havingna much better launch and let this one be a learning experience. At least now WB/NRS has acquired a reputable krossplay network for their games (even when it has its faults like tonight). I'll be rooting for whatever is next, but definitely don't mind being patient if the next direction is a new MK game, I want it right this time. This game is great in so many areas but there has been a few wet floor signs.

@@ScottyKombat yes exactly! i dont think theres any disputing the kr negative reception and sales, and with WB being backed into a corner monetarily, i think they really do have no choice but to really look at their mistakes and learn from them going forward. i had so much fun with the main story of mk1, i really just want them to polish the new era stuff. i want more of what i already liked about it, and im even open to the stuff i didnt like being refined to make it more compelling. it can be done i am confident in that

@ either way im ngl Im actually really enjoying these new teams I picked up. To be honest thats what gets me to turn on the game. I have just about every ninjas bnb combos down except for smokes I have the hardest time with his cancels for some reason. Also takeda is super fun as well

I honestly never cared for Kung Jin but for the people that do I hope they get him it's just like for me I know I won't see Erron as a playable character in mk1 but I'll be happy when he is again I miss my guy Erron black.

All the people who say that this is confirms MK1 is cancelled don't know what they're talking about. It's not just Kung Jin that has been shown on Artstation, but a bunch of character models, and Kung Jin is already in the game in the story mode. So it's not like they are showing anything truly new. And Kameos are still content, they are characters just like the main roster characters. This is not a confirmation of cancelling, this is a hint for a Kameo Pack. And considering that all the "leakers" got contradicting info about KP3, it's super obvious that KP3 is coming and this is all part of NRS/WB's plan to expose the leakers.

@@isaacalves97 It's coming, don't worry. And even by an insanely tiny chance it isn't, MK1 still has so much content and characters. I got the game at launch and I still can see more than one full year of content ahead of me just with what we got alone thanks to Invasions and TOT's.

@@ScottyKombat Nah, let's admit it. MK1 is done, unfortunately. The hatred is too great, nothing can turn the rabid crowds anymore. I really hope NRS will be clever and will NOT release a new MK game next, it will be doomed to fail as well. It might be an MK-fatigue, I don't know, but this chronic negativity is non-natural and only time will heal it. In 5 years the crowds will beg for MK again, it will be then the best moment to release the next installment. This is why I hoped KP3 would be the best possible way to close MK1, before a big break, but now we must accept that T-1000 will be the final character :(.

I will confess I love the Kombat Kids, but Not Kung Jin, I feel like this Character was created only as a final result as he’s not different from Lao in MKX as the only difference between the is the Weapons and Sexuality but the main reason why I don’t like Jin is that he’s a Unlikable A-Hole with some of the Weakest Skins, Fatalities, X-Ray, and Creativity, he’s my least favorite Character in Mortal Kombat, I will admit that his design is a modern take on his MKX Skin done better that he had potential to be in the main roster like Takeda, although I’m not so sure as it’s not truly confirmed that MK1 is Cancelled but everything about this Game’s Stait is Unknown even though I want at least one more pack of characters to be playable

He's my least favorite as well. Not for reasons others may not like him though.. For me it was his stealing and arrogance. A bow and staff were a cool concept I wanted to see in MK but found his character to be undesirable. I'm rowing the same boat with you, I think the design is good and I can see it on main roster but its hard saying with where the game sits right now. It's making my head spin
