This pairing actually makes sense to me. I mean from a Liu Kang perspective. Liu Kang has purposefully created this timeline by messing with people's destinies in order to tune down their worst traits and ideally make them better people. Changing Skektor's gender and making it very likely her and Bi-Han would fall in love was to mitigate their rivalry and Skektor's grand ambition to take over the the clan and turn everyone into robots. Honestly I wish the game had like a "developer" track but from Liu Kang's perspective where he talks about what he altered in people's destiny, what he was hoping to achieve and what the end result was. You have to remember this timeline is all basically a Liu Kang fanfic of his old world where he tries to butterfly effect his way into the best possible future for everyone.

I think the main reason was Bi Han and his brothers had the mission to destroy the Soul Stealers but they failed and Sub Zero betrays them that the Soul Stealers were Activated, which led to Liu Kang asking for Sindel's help and she Died in the end so I don't really blame them for blaming Bi Han. Cause and Effect, really.
