Excuse me? When Liu Kang and Kung Lao were dead, even due to Raiden's fault. It was Sonya and Special Ops team who were fighting and protecting earth from unfair fight with Outworld. Liu Kang and Kung Lao had powers and training and Special Ops were just humans. Even Jonhnny Cage and Cassie had powers but Sonya was the only human who managed to fight the Outworld. Jax also had steel arms and was out from it for a very long time as he was a revenant.

Well, to be fair, kung lao died to a cheap shot and in the beginning he beat shao khan and liu kang only died because raidan hit him with a cheap shot and blasted him with lighting. The special ops are great warriors in their own right and have done quite alot for being normal humans but kung lao and liu kang has done alot more and was only taken done by a demigod and a demigod-like warrior. This isnt trying to correct anyone just trying to bring some perspective
