Mk2 and Mk3 Ford Focus RS at USC 2017 - Best 1/4 Mile 13.50

Just a few races of Focus RS's that I filmed at USC 2017. First race is a Mk3 RS v a Toyota Celica. The Focus RS winning a close race with a 13.72 @ 100mph v 13.79 @ 97mph. The second race is a Mk3 Focus RS v a 400bhp Revo Stage 4 Mk2 Focus RS. The Mk3 winning with a 13.50 @ 101mph v 13.96 @ 108mph.

That was fun. I wonder if it was modified or if the driver was happy with his performance. I'm only watching and hearing on a smart phone but I felt the shifts were sometimes early and to careful. I really like the RS and now that they are starting to show used maybe I can get, i like that AWD system and i would use some aggressive snow tires up here in Mi.

where did you get that green mk2 had over 700bhp? If you read the description it says 400bhp.

The Mk3 had a number of advantages over the Mk2. 1. The Mk2 is 400BHP, not 700. It would have shredded its' tyres completely, putting down all that power off the line anyway. 2. The Mk2 is front wheel drive. 3. The Mk3 is all-wheel drive. This gives it an off-the-line advantage that the Mk2 can't begin to match off-the-line. In other words, the only hope it would have is the top speed or the 60-100 acceleration. Both are evenly matched in top speed.

the rs500 only had 350 hp this focus mk2 has 400... mk2 with 400 is faster then mk3 on the high end. Only reason why mk3 is faster is awd vs fwd

Bloodpearl didnt know that mk2 was 400bhp... stock vs stock i cant see the mk2 keeping up....the mk3 will do 165 mph what does mk2 clock out at?

@@supermotovtec8550 Same 165mph These timing are so bad. My focus st mk3 does 13.8 on a quarter mile Bone stock but of course with 94 octain. Yet my ST only has 252hp and 270tq and weighs same has the Focus rs mk2 and Fwd. My guess is the Focus rs Mk2 should do 13 flat but of course it will need 94 octain gas not sure what gas there using?

@@totov6122 in the UK it's a minimum of 95 Ron. Which is considered absolutely shit. We also have 97 and 99.. The best is shell v power and most people with any understanding at all will be on a minimum of 97 Ron and probably over 50% of people on v power.. So basically these cars will have been running on proper fuel, these times are poor just because the cars in this video are sadly not very quick. 13+ second 1/4 mile in the UK is about where stuff starts getting interesting

I don't agree, imo the focus rs mk3 looks way better from the front, for the rear however i don't think the mk3 looks great, but neither does the mk2. I really wish they made a mk4 rs because the mk4 looks great, but instead they completely discontinued the focus by 2025, ford is really trying their best to just completely ruin their entire reputation of making fun cars

But the mk3 is far better to drive. For me that is more important than looking like a teenager in the mk2. Fun in the corners is more fun than sitting still or straightlining.

Only Turbo agree the mk2 Focus looks nicer and sounds better, also the rally style rims look a lot nicer. The mk3 isn’t bad, it’s nice but mk2 all the way.

Why would you want to take away or turn off launch control? It's a performance mod just like anything else you add to make the car perform better. You can tune in or add a 2-step to the Mk2 so it's not like the Mk3 is cheating.

Its not slow what you see here is bad launches or bad gas. Cause 91 octain gas will not give you good result with these high Hp cars.

​@@totov6122 The octane in the UK is a fair bit better than the states (assuming that's where you're from). Our "standard" petrol is 95 and premium is 99. Premium is available pretty much everywhere standard is and I GUARENTEE all of these guys were using premium on this day (who would go to a run-what-you-brung and not use premium). Judging by the looks of that MK2; wouldn't be surprised if it was using race fuel or octane booster at the least. tldr; nothing to do with "gas"
