You have some cutting going on the od lower right there on the non coolant side. Quite a bit more material got missed than other ops ...

The wall actually moves outwards as internal stresses in the material are relieved when inner material is machined away in later operations. This is why you see more material being skimmed off when the program is rerun. It has nothing to do with the accuracy or rigidity of the machine. These parts are for my own product. I know the tolerances are within spec.

Wow this is cool, what does the water do?
@swervedrivespecialties38272 жыл бұрын
It's coolant which gets recirculated. It blasts away the metal chips, lubricates the cut, and cools the tools and material.

So how do you drill and tap the tread holes on the billet wheels?
@swervedrivespecialties3827 Жыл бұрын
We have a separate fixture (not present in the video) that holds the wheel at the appropriate orientations for drilling/tapping.

@@swervedrivespecialties3827 ohh super cool you think it would be possible if you could share a video on YT or pictures on the Chief Delphi thread about the wheel fixtures, also will the parasolid and step files for the mk4i be updated with 10-32 screws and the v2 shaft
@swervedrivespecialties3827 Жыл бұрын
Thank you, and we'll look into getting a video/picture of the wheel fixture setup. Yes, we will be getting the MK4i Swerve Module's CAD model files updated with the 10-32 frame mounting holes and revised Intermediate Shaft.

with the roughing at around 4:30 how bad is the machine shaking on the outside? it seems quite violent but i assume the machine is made to handle it :) I work with Mazaks and they are not nearly as nimble but if i do fast troicoidal roughing it gets a bit shaky :)
@swervedrivespecialties38273 жыл бұрын
The sheet metal of the enclosure shakes a little. You can see the vibration of the coolant nozzles. It's nowhere near violet enough for the machine to move around on the floor though.
