Thank you for the informative video, great instructions on doing this DIY. I want to add 1 thing though, since I ran into this issue. Before installing it, if you are running the STOCK BOV/DIV use the Yellow spring that comes pre-installed in the valve. If you are running a Stage 1 tune, use the BLUE spring that comes in the kit. If you are running more boost, then look into what spring you should use. the Yellow Spring hold 10-20 PSI of Boost, where the Blue Spring hold 20-30 PSI of Boost. There are more springs, but these 2 come with the kit. Besides that, thanks again for the great videos, and have fun!!!

@@miata7478 lol I have. You can tell who the tuners are, who the racers are and who the keyboard warriors. I have had my car tuned when I first done the is38 swap, stock dv. Then when the hybrid turbo swap I had the forge bov on. Guess what had zero issue. No boost leak, no unnatural boost drops. None. Change out to the correct spring for how much boost you have and you are good. With some fun sounds. No added performance. But fun none the less.

One problem with this video, otherwise it’s a phenomenal step by step instruction on how to install. It is never mentioned to make sure to tighten the cap on the BOV to ensure you don’t blow it right off (which I did). Only been doing mods on cars for about 2 years now so I’m definitely not very experienced but at the same time not a total dummy:/ it’s something I probably should’ve thought to check but put all my trust in the step by step instruction of the video and my buddies and I thought we were all good after completing the steps in the vid. MAKE SURE YOU TIGHTEN THE CAP ON THE VALVE cause my (basically) stock mk7 golf r blew that mf’er right off in 2 months

So I installed this Forge BOV on my 2015 GTI and everything has been great until whats seems about 2 days ago. I noticed the whoosh sound not there anymore, but instead what others describe as "turbo flutter" through the intake when I am OFF throttle after a pull. The turbo still builds boost, after releasing the throttle to shift it gives the flutter. After a bit of research it seems the evidence is pointing at my Forge BOV not opening anymore. I did check all of the vacuum lines, and there is zero pinches or kinks while everything is plugged in where it should be. I even tried disconnecting the electrical wires and replugging them. Is it normal for the Forge BOV to have these issues after a few months of use? My mods are catless dp, neuspeed p-flo intake, cts turbo muffler delete, cts turbo inlet pipe. Are the other mods causing issues? I might switch back to the stock diverter valve until I figure it out. What do you guys think. Thanks!

I have butter fingers so I usually stuff a rag into the turbo inlet just in case I do drop a socket or a bolt into it. Also you can use remove the bolt for the turbo inlet and twist it towards the firewall and give you a bit more room for that lower bolt of the bov.

When I get on the throttle I hear a chirping noise sometimes, is this the turbo? I did some research online and i came across compressor surge? Would a BOV fix this?

got one of these for my 7r but after some gear changes it's still blowing off when back accelerater. changed springs as I'm running a stage 1 map and then seemed to be stuttering on bull boost so again stopped it back for the yellow spring. not sure I've correctly done the swop as I can now twist the top with ease..only limited to the hose and again suffering blowing off on full boost every now n then suggesting a leak. my advise is to leave well enough alone, which is frustrating as I spent/ wasted over £200 :(

Hey DAP folks, there is a product called assembly lube, it is super tacky and putting some on the end of allen driver would ensure hardware stays put when removing from part.

+GTI_CHHA Blow Off Valve = Atmosphere Diverter Valve = Recirculation. The MK7 doesn't use a mass air sensor so it doesn't worry about no getting the air back in.

I would strongly recommend to swap it for a GFB DV+. In combination with a "open" airfilter it will still give you some limited (non-annoying!) blow-off sounds. But more importantly, it does not blow-off into atmosphere, but re-circulates the air like the stock diverter valve does, exactly as VW engineers intended. This has 2 advantages: (1) Noticeably quicker boost built-up after "blow-off" and (2) no boost-leak which is especially important for tuned engines. I am running one for over 2 years now with zero issues on my stage 2 Mk7 GTI (320HP and 500Nm).

It might throw a CEL (unlikely) but it definitely will not cause your car to run rich. MK7s have MAP sensors instead of MAFs, so venting to atmosphere is perfectly fine!

Hey Paul, I just installed one of these this past weekend on my mk7. I used your video as well as the provided instructions by forged and I am certain it is installed correctly with no leaks or incorrect vacuum tube installation. I am getting a CEL with code p003300 turbocharger bypass valve control circuit. The only thing I noticed that didnt look right was the connector on the adapter that connects to the solenoid one of the pins is "recessed" and looks like it may not be making contact. Do you think this may be my problem? I have cleared the code multiple times and it comes back instantly after clearing without even driving the car.

If your car is automatic, when it shifts into gear the valve opens, and when you continue to press the accelerator it starts to fill up again, but the valve takes a few seconds to close, so during this time you will hear the pressure coming out.

That's a diverter valve upgrade, not a bov install. A bov in installed on the pipe that goes to the throttle body, I know because I have one. Might be an American terminology so I'm sorry in advance.
