Thank you so much for posting this video!!! I traded in my 19R for a 23R and was so disappointed in the audio! I took it to a car audio place and they didn’t want to touch it, they said it had an expensive system already and only recommended adding a second sub. I saw this video and ordered a used Fender off of eBay, took about 10 minutes to install with just a scissors and Xacto knife and I couldn’t be happier. I highly recommend 😊

Thank you for this video. I just did mine and it works great. The tip about the direction of the brown\white wires was exactly what I needed. Just incase anyone else is doing this for the 2024 golf R, I had to trim the sides of the clip AND the bottom of the actual plug on the fender amp, it has 2 raised parts that you shave. Thanks again!!! so much better

Can the HK sub technically be plugged into a MK7 ?

So even if my HK sub was deleted due to the supply shortage. Is the harness still there? Can I plug and play my old mk7 fender sub on my new mk8?

You'd have to open your trunk trim to see if the plug is hiding in there somewhere. VW also has a wiring setup that doesn't include a sub and they may have used that instead.

Hi is there any marking on speaker itself maybe there is a change get only speaker without the full unit

Won’t fit. They are slightly different sizes. Swap or nothing unfortunately.

So after you trim the mk8 HK subwoofer plug, then it is a simple plug into Fender subwoofer and play the HK sound system just as if it had the HK subwoofer (but actually a Fender one), correct? What are your opinion on splicing the mk 8 subwoofer dual coil four speaker wires where replace the HK subwoofer end harness with the Fender harness to plug into the subwoofer?

Question one’s answer is yes. But don’t forget to flip the plug upside down. Second question, sure you could, but it’s not nearly as clean, and the first method is super simple to still use with the stock HK sub in case you ever sell the car.
