Thank you so much for this tutorial. It was clear, concise and correct. I’ve just spent a bit of this Sunday afternoon changing pads and discs. Having always putting off doing the brake change myself, following this step-by-step guide helped me save around £150 in parts and labour charges at the main dealer. Top fella 👌🏻

Loved the attention to detail. Great video.

Thanks. I believe brakes demand attention to detail. Hopefully it never comes to it, but one day that attention could save you from summat nasty.

Great video. I’m still worried about doing this to my mk8 fiesta 😞

Thanks for this, done many different vehicle brake changes so was a bit caught out when there were no calliper bolts as I am used to, I then realised it was a sort of Allen bolt but nothing seemed to fit so I was wondering if it needed some special tool. Your video told me it was a 7mm.. an extensive search of my workshop eventually turned a 7mm key up. Finding the odd sized key was the most time consuming part the job!!. Oh and getting the discs off took a a bit of time with a mallet..lol

7mm is common. I don't know why, but it is. Hence Draper doing this tool amzn.to/3q5yLtS

Fantastic presentation and as someone in commercial transport maintenance I just wish there were more people on KZbin who paid attention to detail with technical things like brakes. Out of curiosity do you have a presentation for the same vehicle rear brakes as I’m mentoring an apprentice and this just helps me in prep as his car is a 2017 mk8 1.0 titanium turbo fiesta. Thanks 😎👍

Thanks so much! You clamp off rubber hoses with a brake hose clamp, but what do you do for stainless steel braided hoses?
@CycloneCyd3 жыл бұрын
Same, brake hose clamp. Clamp firmly, but don't go mad! (whatever sort of hose)

Hi i have a question. Where is the better zone in this car to put the chandeless..sorry but i don't know the name in english. Thanks
@CycloneCydАй бұрын
Chandeless?? Sorry, don't know what that is. try using Google translate.

@@CycloneCyd I am referring to where you support the car to leave it raised, the support points of the chassis, I speak English but not colloquially, only work...hehe, I have looked for the translation and I think that in Spanish it is a name given by us to those supports

Hi, I've seen some videos that says one shouldn't use ceratec on the slide pins because it could damage the rubber guides. The same on the pistons because it doesn't match with the brake fluid around it. What do you think? Thanx in advance.

can you tell me the newton meter you use to re attach the parts :)

Very usefull video but i have the st3 with performance pack and it has the large red calipers so are the brake pads the same?
@CycloneCyd3 жыл бұрын
Good question. It wouldn't surprise me if they are, but I cannot be 100% certain and have no desire to mislead you. The Pagid brake book doesn't list any others nor any exceptions. It might be worth ringing your nearest Ford dealer parts department and asking
@Ivzu3 жыл бұрын
I think that they are the same, they just get painted red.

Would you happen to have the part number for front break pads and rears for this manufacturer

Not to hand, but search for the Textar Brake Book and use your model details

Hi how do you remove rear drum on 2018 mk 8 echo boost 1.000 mine won't come off I've tried wd40 lump hammer 2 prize bars still stuck Mike thanks.

Why don’t you just prize the piston back without undoing the bleeder ? You won’t have to top the reservoir up after doing it that way 🤷♂️
@shaunhastie30022 жыл бұрын
I agree you can pysh it back but using the nipple you are allowing fresh brake fluid in and keeps the nipple moving where if you never used it i may snap off
