Bruno - NeoSpace I think people's issue is the fact that kenshi is too easy to play as, playing as kenshi I could pull off 8-10 hit combos and I'm not even good at MK. Other characters took time and practice but characters like kenshi does not require skill at all.

Angel Delcid Every character takes skill to play at a high level, you still have to make reads and have great fundamental skills. You have to punish in all situations and make the right decisions. Some characters take more skill than others, but they all take an extreme amount of skill and game knowledge to make it late in a big tournament.

TheTurtleVillage Some characters are just too easy to play, you wouldn't have to remember a lot of their button sequences to pull a crazy amount of combos. And kenshi is one of those players, every game has one of those characters

This event and this fight especially is an extremely high level. But a lot of MK tournaments don't have official casters. It's not uncommon for the casters to be other tournament players who don't have a match at the time.

Reo came from Losers Finals so if Reo wanted to win Grand Finals, he would need to win 3 out of 5 matches to reset the bracket so that it's best 3 out of 5 again. CDJR won Winners Finals so he only has to win 3 matches to win. (Basically, Reo needed to win 6 matches to win Grand Finals while CDJR only needed to win 3 matches)

Its because MK casters are actually players. In ST2 their job is casting, thats all they do. HD is the only ST2 caster i know of that was actually pro. Makes sens when you think about it :). But i agree it would be nice to get some serious commentation happening.

They usually just grab players who lost earlier, and some guys simply aren't suited for it. Aris and Ultradavid for Evo 2011 is an example of MK commentary done right. Some guys simply don't want to talk over the game too much as well.

Almost everything you listed, is in most conventional fighting games, namely super smash bros. What i meant by intricate mechanics would be counter hit set ups, option selects, crossups (although not that complex, isnt even a factor in this game given the block button).

Yeah while Kabal is made for zoning doing his IAGB is not easy... It's actually rather difficult to do Instant air gas blasts with kabal if you are not used to it (Muscle memory wise etc). And while rushing down your opponent with a Nomad dash followed by a cancel you need to be ready with all sorts of reads + mixups AND perfect execution, you fail Nomad dash cancel pressure you get punished.
