UPDATE 3/20/23: So there’s a director’s uncut version that was released, which shows a few-second edit that was added in which He Ran shows Xiao Han her hand with her wedding ring on it while smiling happily at him. Why didn’t they release this with the broadcast version and let us know that it was a happy ending? 🤦‍♀Here is the link to see the uncut happy ending: twitter.com/pearlapas/status/1636412259743444992 ___________________________________________ For those who want to experience all the heart-warming, heart-wrenching, tears, and other mix emotions, I highly recommend this drama. Everything was beautifully done - the romance story, characters, OST and amazing cinematography. I felt the tug-and-pull love of the main leads. The last two episodes left me with so many tears. Despite the sad ending, it left a lasting memorable impression for me. SPOILER ENDING: This drama did a great job of leaving an open-ended for each viewer. I’ve included the scenes after the credits of the last episode and am leaving the interpretation to the viewer. Some would say she went to get treatment for her leukemia and return back to Xiao Han. Some would think she didn’t make it through with her treatment and died. Some may also think she died during their snow scene together. MY INTERPRETATION: I’m interpreting this drama as a sad ending. He Ran died and he lived on as if she was still alive and living with him with her towel, toothbrush and painting kept in the same places. Xiao Han was far too heartbroken at the end when he realized he had her father’s original artwork. He had promised her if the flowers bloomed, they would be together in E8. When the flowers bloomed again in E24, he looked absolutely shattered. It may have been a painful reminder that they are no longer together. The scene where they reunited after the end credits of the last episode seems like a dream. Her voice had an echo and the screen filter seems a bit too reddish/pink, hinting to me that it was more dreamlike. Deep down I still hope that she is alive and it’s possible he had reasons for not going with her to get treatment. Perhaps in the end, he was surprised to see her at first but became really happy to realize she was back and wore that previous dress to remind them of when they first started meeting. But all that seems illogical in my wishful thinking because I don’t see why he wouldn’t go with her to get treatment. In addition, he was too heartbroken seeing the portrait and flower blooming again if she were still alive because they would for sure be in contact while she was overseas. I think he would’ve smiled seeing the flowers bloom again if she was still alive rather than crying. 😢

How is it that I’ve never heard of this show? I get recommended the most cringiest and overhyped dramas but never heard of this one. The visuals are so eye catching, the acting is too notch, the chemistry is sizzling with a female lead who approached the guy first and not to mention isn’t scared to take the first lead both in relationship and in skinship. This is one of the rare couple who are cute and sexy at the same time. I don’t know, I really prefer happy ending but for some reason I love to torture myself with sad dramas and this one surely seems my type. This edit is so beautifully created. I salute you editor, cause you made me addicted to a show without even watching it. Now I really need to watch this show asap.

This new Jerry Yan drama is so hot im on fire lol. The Forbidden Flower gives a whole new vibe, it is such a beautiful love story. Jerry Yan and Xu Ruo Han did an awesome job capturing the audience with thier amazing chemistry and visuals. I love how the plot of the story is kept simple but captivating. The entire drama focused on their undying love, trust and commitment without navigating from the main idea of the story which makes you want to come back for more. The camera crew also did an amazing job show casing the beautiful setting of this love story and the soundtrack hits me every time it comes on. I feel like I have been transported into a beautiful love fairytale. Waking up from this drama is going to be hard one lol 😍

The drama is based on the original book, so I don't understand the anger of certain people towards the drama and the story itself. Awww, so emotional to see these two again from the start of your edit! I cried when I see He Ran in there. T_T She's my first favorite character in cdrama 2023. I love these two so much and storyline as well. 3:19 - 3:23 I love that glitch transition!! 4:21 - 4:30 I didn't realize that she fall back easily due to her sick. Before that, I really thought she is that weak and try to lurk him to hold her or something. I was suspicious but I was so stupid! 😭😭😭 but great parallel. I love that scene the most 5:52. 🥺8:06 - 8:23 is great parallel of romantic!! Hug & kisses are such a romantic I really like! I realized that some kiss that cut out. I was mad for that... 🙃9:47 is the most heartbreaking breakup...I really cried for that scene. 12:42 is the most beautiful saddest moment. For me to interpreter ending... He Ran died on Xiao Han's side on the snow, and he cried when look at He Ran smile and standing on the flowers, it means he really missed her so much. So, it's sad ending. I cried a lot for the few last episodes last night. Great edit and thank for summary edit!! I am glad to take my time and enjoy to watch this edit.

I love the actress (Xu Ruohan) and I've watched all of her dramas but this one remains my favourite. This was sad and I cried a lot but still I love it.The osts are awesome specially Lucid dream which was one of my fav kdrama ost (It was the ost of While you were sleeping a kdrama starring Lee Jungsuk and Bae Suzy). This is a must watch if you wanna cry :)

i loved that sequence in the rain from 1:13 - 1:20, they did it so pretty! when she kisses him in the chair he looks so stunned XD 3:51 great scene choice to the lyrics :D oof, the heart ache after he finds out and her trying to hide it T_T I wouldn't survive this one T^T

A beautiful movie, Both of them portrait the true meaning of love till death do us part in sickness and health they love each other, Jerry Yan, very young in his age, so handsome, very simple to handle his role so amazing i love his movie, hoping for part 2 of this movie forbidden flower. Honestly this drama made me ship these actors so hard in real life and I can't move past it. Has been a while since I've loved an on screen pair so much that I can't watch them with anyone else ever again. The BTS scenes kill me and they look so good together even though he is 20 yrs older than her. I was shook finding out he is in his 40s. I am the same age as her and this is making me want to find a daddy in his 40s lmao. Men really do age like fine wine
