Side note on the "silicon carbon" batteries - this tech is not new, but its implementation in mass market LiPo cells is recent. Sanyo (now Panasonic) was putting graphite + silicon oxide anodes into the NCR18650BF back in 2014. They were quite successful in doing so - huge improvements in capacity and thermal stability. Glad to see it's making the same impact on phone cells years later. 6000mAh is a CRAZY amount to have in a phone that slim.

It's one of the reasons I'm getting the phone. Someone showed it under a 40,000 FPS camera next to the iPhone 16, the Galaxy S24, the Oppo Find X8, and others and the difference was NOTICEABLE. As some who is SUPER sensitive to strobing effects, I need a phone where I don't notice the PWM at all no matter what. I'm so bad with bright or strobing lights that I have to wear very lightly tinted polarized glasses to drive at night because of all the poorly-aimed HID lights on massive trucks that are driving around these days. I feel like OnePlus really knocked it out of the park with the 13. I love my 7 Pro, but there are so many new features packed into the 13 that I can't help but upgrade.

Still has great performance and is even better in some ways, for example wireless charging.
