@@SatanicBoomBoomHead It's not supposed to be catering towards all the parts of their customer base or audience, they're just trying to do something different in terms of the form factor that we usually get on a smartphone. It's different to see the display being folded, which with further R&D one day might lead to the same technology being integrated into various useful products with much less cons as compared to what they have now. So finally it comes down to the choice, if someone likes to have a folding phone as their daily driver or just for fun and is willing to spend the expensive rates that they come at then you've these options provided by a reputed company like Samsung, if not then you don't have to buy it and can go for the regular options they provide, either way it benefits the customer base because something is always better than nothing. I don't see myself using these foldable devices nor it being useful to my workflow but I am very much interested in the tech, work they're putting into it and what they're gonna do with it.

I got it after my note 10 plus died and the faster 120 fps and 5g speed is amazing also the smaller more pocket able size while not losing any screen size is a huge benefit. I've gone to the Samsung store and played with the phone a little. I have to say, if it wasn't that expensive, I would be leaving with that phone in my pocket. It really feels nice, I don't even mind the crease in the middle. Yes you can feel it when sliding, but if you are looking at your phone directly, you don't see it, it's not a problem. Just playing with the phone for 5 minutes made me forget about any shortcomings. The only thing that held me back was the price. That said I think the phone can be improved on. Probably a dust resistant hinge for starters, more battery time and getting slimmer and smaller screen. When opened the screen is too long, the aspect ratio is unnatural. I guess because all the apps are not meant for that resolution. Still, it's a very usable phone today. The only thing stopping me is the high price. If you are rich (unlike me) and like fancy toys (like me), I urge to check this phone at a Samsung store. I think you'll like it.

I don't know if I'm in a minority but I always considered the operating word to be when it's unfolded. What I mean by that is that when unfolded, the Flip is like a normal phone. So this is a phone that you can fold up. Hence, folding phone. :) The Fold on the other hand, when unfolded looks like a tablet or at the very least, a phablet. So I always felt that a foldable tablet would be a more fitting description of the Fold rather than a folding phone.
@YDGFX3 жыл бұрын
yes, it would be awesome to see their OS on a folding device similar to Samsung's folding devices, maybe Apple has something up their sleeves or they'll just stick to their laziness, only time will tell.

@chrisjfox87153 жыл бұрын
I'm pretty sure Apple considers just about everything Samsung considers, they just have zero desire to be first. Folding screens haven't exactly been some secret, just like wireless charging wasn't for the years it took Apple before they pulled the trigger. They'd much rather milk sales out of what they have rather than fight for the cutting edge - it's a safer bet for their ever-growing profits. And it'll likely especially take them a while with this because doing it just to say they did could easily lead to a really clunky iOS experience that would just damage their brand.

@@shadow11270 I feel like this maybe the atypical KZbin Creator response but I think it really depends. The easiest way I can sum it up is do you like the feel of nothing in your pocket or do you care to have a pocket that is heavily weighed down? And secondly do you like tablets but you don't use them because you don't want to carry a second device around? So basically if weight and form-factor doesn't bother you I would recommend the fold. I have had mine for 3 days and I CAN'T put it down. I've seen tons of videos where they say the camera is inferior but I don't see anything wrong with it. My pics are clear as a bell. I came from a Note 20 Ultra and I still have it but for now, I will be using this for a while. I love the fact it's compact after it's folded. The only complaint I have is the damned battery. It takes too long to charge and I bought the wireless charger that comes with it and it's extremely slow. I watch youtube videos all day at work and I have to recharge it by 1pm and once I plug it in, it takes over an hour to almost get full charge from 44%. My Note 20 would last me from 9 until almost 6pm with continuous use all day and once I plugged it in, within 30 mins it's almost full. This thing is EXTREMELY SLOW to charge even with a fast charger. This is the most fun phone I've owned and I didn't even notice the crease from the beginning.
