I did the same but with the s23 plus. I also miss the rear fingerprint reader and the headphone jack, but I don't care about the rest. The s9 was really good anyway, the main reason I upgraded was the battery, but the s23 really is a nice upgrade.

Umm, I dropped my 6s in water a few times and water got into the opening and some internals and still runs perfectly (I don’t know how). I customized this 6s with a silver shell from a space gray one. Silver shell with black display is cool. This phone is unique. iFixit was very helpful and took lots of patience.

It makes me mad that people are giving Samsung shit for using a similar design (NOT the same design, hold them side by side and you can feel the difference in how the S8 and S9 are built), but Apple used an IDENTICAL design on the 6, 6+, 6S, 6S+, 7, 7+ (albeit with different camera shapes/sizes), 8, AND 8+ (with glass backs, but the same frame.

Cade Del Rey The same-y design was a bit of a letdown but the S8 was a pretty nice looking phone to gawk at, hence the "if it ain't broke, fix it" approach with the S9. Hell, the purple S9 is quite a looker and if my Best Buy wasn't out of it, I would've went with that color option. People seem to be forgetting that we already plateaued when it comes to phones so any new changes are incremental at best. You can't really innovate much with the contemporary design of a candy bar device with glass on the front and either metal, plastic, or more glass in the back.

Make your S9+ perfect. 1- install Nova Launcher Pro 2- install Bixby button remapper..I currently have mine set to Google Assistant on single press, flashlight on double press, DND on long press. 3- just awaiting GCam port which will bring the better software of the Pixel camera to the better hardware of the Samsung camera. Battery life has been superb as well as the intelligent face scan.

abu salah Yep, it’s safe. Somebody did a comparison of the Pixel 2 photos vs the Note 8 Gcam port photos,......there was really no difference. Just download the apk version of your phone, and use it as your main camera, if you prefer Pixel camera software above all else.

Yeah for example I think they didn't put stereo speakers on the S8 because they knew the S9 was going to be just a small upgrade so they saved it for now. Same thing for RAM. The S9+ only has 6GB of ram not because they couldn't put 8 in there, but because they're saving that for the Note 9, since there's probably not going to be much change too. As for the S10, looking at recent rumors it may come to be a truly spectacular device - under display fingerprint scanner, "holes" in the top of the screen for the sensors, giving it almost 100% screen to body ratio, maybe the "true wireless charging" technology, a 'real' camera innovation, super slow-mo at 1080p or more, etc

I'm a stock android user/person (even that's a thing these days). I laud Samsung for making such great hardware. Very few stock android phones have compelling hardware. Samsung keeping the essentials like the headphone jack, fingerprint scanner makes it much more appealing to me and makes me forget the minor nuisances of Samsung software. And you if you are not around a place where you can charge it off of grid power, simply buy yourself a rechargeable usb battery pack and keep it with you in your bag/backpack along with an extra charge cable. I do that as well as utilize a wireless charging pad inside of my vehicle and at my Desk at home, ALSO if your battery has become old and cant hold a charge like it once did out the box 3-4years ago, simply replace it with a brand new one off ebay, It's really not that difficult, a little bit of Effort it but was a great feeling of accomplishment and now the battery is good as new. just doing that with a used one i bought which was sold for 40$ even Though it is otherwise in mint condition and doesn't even have any burnt screen issues that many of these phones have after being used for over 2 and a 1/2 to 3 years. but because the battery couldn't hold a charge and the old owner didn't want to take the time and spend 40-60$ on a good replacement battery to do the job..SCORE!!. i have 2 of these phones cus i love them so much. Now I have a backup S9 in mint condition with a brand new battery just waiting to be used. Considering replacement of the screen alone is hundreds of dollars.

Conor Firstly, not everyone can afford to spend that much on professional equipment. Secondly, no one's carrying all of that with them when they're out or travelling, which makes for most part of the day for a lot of busy people. The point is to get the best out of your music without compromising on utility or comfort, and wired headsets do a great job at that. And for the record, fancy equipment doesn't make you an audiophile, your love for music does. So tone down that attitude and get real.

I just upgraded from the nexus 6p! My S9+ IS COMING IN THE MAIL TOMORROW! Edit: Also, Samsung announced that they are going to utilize Project Treble for more frequent updates, Bixby button can be disabled (and some new apps are coming out that make it so it can be remapped). Lastly, the dual apps can be disabled and if you buy it unlocked (like on amazon or tmobile) then it doesn't come with a lot of the useless clutter. $840 is also almost $200 cheaper than an iphoneX which is worse in many depts.

Master of None? MKBHD instantly corrected himself by mentioning Best Display. The S9 is also master of low light shots as many youtubers said, and if u count DXOMark, best camera phone. The S9 also has class leading speakers and rock a headphone jack. Added with the gorgeous display and SD card expansion, I’d say the S9 is a master of Multimedia consumption. I guess it’s kinda a trend among youtubers downplaying the S9 strengths and being nitpicky about it while very apologetic with other phones (eg, iPhone X lack of headphone jack, touch iD and the notch ruining ur multimedia experience)

Too be fair DXO mark should never be taken on face value. Look at the comparison shots. The pixel 2 and S9 trade blows in the different categories. It seems more a matter of taste. I agree with the screen, headphone jack and micro ad card, but 'class leading speakers'!? the S9's speakers are no way near the Razer Phone's. To be honest they are average even when compared to some of the other none front firing stereo setups. I don't think MKBHD is a 'google fanboy', he just prefers to use the Pixel 2xl.

@@roycelewis5897 It is really nice! Great photos, great screen, great size (in my opinion but if you like smaller phones the s9 is good, but I have the plus). As for ram, I'm sure it's great, but I generally don't have that many apps open at once, but when I do it's still really fast. It's definitely better than the se though, that had 2 gb and this has 4. All in all, if you are upgrading from an older phone, it is definitely, _definitely_ worth it, but if you are upgrading from the s8 I would maybe just wait.

Ruby McNeil i have an se and i need a new phone and i was looking at this one I’m 15 and don’t have a job and we don’t have alot of money and other people need a phone so I probably have some time but this seems to be a good option I’ve been wanting to try android and i love apple but i also love customization and i have tried the s9 at Walmart and i loved although we have Verizon
