thank you for the video. I was born in Far Rockaway and now live about ten miles away in Nassau County. I believe in one of the earlier shots in this video is the construction of the Marine Park Bridge near Reise Park Far Rockaway. That was the the site of the dirigible base on the south shore. Later years my Dad's buddy was an officer in the Navy, he was involved with blimps. When I was a small boy in the mid fifties "Uncle Martin" had a 55 Chrysler 2dr ht and we met at Lakehurst NJ. I was taken on several of the blimps that were in hangers much larger than the one in the video. I believe there were two or three blimps in the hanger.

That’s very interesting, Steven. Sounds like you have the inside scoop on how they were doing all this. I will look again to see the bridge. Of course, I am curious as to the route. I thought I came across that they left Connecticut and headed southeast toward Montauk staying in line with the path of totality. The path ran northwest to southeast. Thus downtown NYC didn’t get, but above 96th St (approximately, and up to debate) did. But it did originate from Lakehurst. There are also numerous photos of the Los Angeles taken with the skyline in the background. More work needs to be done to tell the definitive story. Especially since we have 2079 to prepare for. But let’s focus on April 8th this year first! 😊👍
