Chris Tsang key is to use the frost axe only and throw it on their one hitter moves to stop them. I was trying to use chaos blades because I like them more but damn they suck for the valkyrie fights. First one took me an hour to beat until I realized I could stop her strongest move by just throwing my axe at her

Chris Tsang of they fly into the air carrying on which one you're fighting throw you axe to knock them out and give yourself 10 seconds on knock out time to go happy on them. Only save your moves to knock her out of her moves too

The Valkyries are both easy and hard at the same time. The easy side is you get used to their attacks VERY quickly, which allows you to know when to dodge or block. But the hard part is most of the time they take hours to beat even though you know their attack pattern which should’ve made it generally easy.

For anyone who is having trouble with these: Take the highest damage runic attacks, upgrade them fully and use them all immediately. If she still has a considerable amount of health just play very slowly and worry about blocking. Your Spartan Rage is a fallback in case your health gets low and you are going to die. Always have a Berserker's Resurrection Stone on you during the fights (They may bring you back will very low hp but they give you another chance to Spartan Rage and do more damage). I would also recommend getting a talisman that slows down time. You cannot kill the Valkyrie in Spartan Rage, but you can with abilities so I would recommend using the Talisman to slow down time and then using an ability so it cant miss to kill them. Sigrun will be different, more challenging. You need to use all your runics on cooldown so you should just be using Runic attacks, talisman, and only Spartan Rage when you are about to die. Seems complicated but after a few attempts you will get it down no problem. Good Luck!

Indeed. I didn't realize just how large the map was. And then as large as it is, there is reason to backtrack and revisit, due to the water level changing and opening new paths. I'm currently on my second play through on ... harder than normal one notch below crazy difficult... and I'm trying to find and do everything on this play through and there are so many little mini puzzles in nooks and crannies and caverns. And then the EMOTIONAL moments in the game get right in the feels. So many layers to the game more than the violence.. AND not to mention how the camera never (or seamlessly transitions in fast travel) cuts away, giving it such a cinematic quality to it. This should be the standard for games. Plenty of upgrades, plenty of stuff to find, growing relationship, character arc, reference to the past, hint of things to come, interesting lore and characters.

Definitely easy mode. I’ve been fighting her on Challenge Difficulty and when she hits me with that blinding attack it takes away more then half of my health. When you got hit with it. It only took about 1/4 off of your health. It’s a Big difference. If I can’t get her on Challenge mode, then I’ll try Normal Difficulty.

I defeated her on challenge mode, it takes way too much time, you have to counter attack, wait until she attacks you and hit her with the special attacks both from the axe and the blades... I used a lot of Atreyus arrows and his wolf attacks (I don't remember the name) you just have to control yourself and don't get carried away on attacking because like you said... with two attacks of her that's your ass... Have a good one!

Kara = The one who capable to summon enemies. Located at The Hidden Chamber of Odin in the River Pass. B. Helheim : 5. Rota = The one who would yell "Valhala" before Grapple you from above. Hidden Chamber of Odin at Helheim. C. Alfheim : 6. Olrun = The one who can Dodge your attack. She use many unblockable attacks such as Spinning and throw her feathers and dash attacks. I like how the series doesn't engage in pointless violence anymore, I'm sick of all the shock value. People mistake it for a meaningful moment thanks to Game of Thrones... Kratos learned to control his rage, and kill only when he needs to. He doesn't torture or make spectacular kills to make the viewer squirm in discomfort (At least, not for human enemies, those poor Wulvar and Ogres!) which is exactly how it should be.

Just beaten the game a few days ago. These valkyrie fights were pretty fun and challenging. I played the game on Hard Difficulty for my first playthrough. I stayed away from any information about GoW for these past 2 years and I am glad I did so. I went in completely blind. While I was doing the valkyrie fights, I had a feeling that these fights were training me for a harder fight at the end. I was super under powered and these fights frustrated me to no end. I stuck to it and after persevering, I finished all side quests/optional content. I was really overpowered when I finally went back to finish the main story. The last fight with Baldur was a joke. I went into that fight at lvl 8.

Since the very first God of War, these games were SUPPOSED to be played on hard difficult first, right? (I remembered I played GoW1 on normal my first time when I was 12 and it was so boring and easy even for me) after that I played only on hard which was better (and very hard later was insane). @@Durz0. Valikyries arent that hard, only one that gave me trouble was Geirdful (was underleved, also all fights were on give me a challenge) but once you get the hang you best them in few tries (they mostly have the same movesets)

I think that they should've improved the combat a little more, like make it more quick paced, because although these Valkyire fights were challenging and enjoyable there were times I got a bit frustrated trying to lock on to these guys, especially when they leap across the room or behind you.

I think the fact that you were successfully able to use your shield is more impressive than actually beating all the Valkyrie. I just beat the whole game and never used the shield. It never did anything for me, only got me hurt and never blocked crap.

If there's an orange circle, you can block or parry it. If it's a red circle (more likely to come from big enemies like trolls, or heavily telegraphed attacks) you need to get out of the way.It's generally better to block when you can, because you can more easily counterattack and immediately turn the tides.

My advice is to bump up your runic and cool down time. And to take your time in the fight and not rush attacking her. Only attack once you know you have a clear opening. There's time where she pauses slightly after an attack where you can use your light and heavy special ability with the blades and the axe. Doesn't hurt to also go in a little overprepared. Also I went in a couple of times only trying to dodge their attacks and trying not to die to see what they would do

The fight against Gondul is my personal favourite. Slowly approaching her with my shield up and hearing the music play was a fantastic build up to a boss fight. Shame they patched it so the music plays when the bosses health appears 😢

Sigrun is the hardest boss I've faced in a game. Hours of trying and I gave up. Only game where I have done that. If I had a bit more patience, I could have started a new game plus and got the zeus armor which would have helped. But I was too frustrated and I stopped.

I remember finding Eir on God of War difficulty. Sat there until 3am until I beat her. I'm an aggressive player so I had a tough time. What I did was get the free axe throw on her at the beginning and 4 arrows. She should swipe to her right while you recall the axe. I dodged when she came in close quarters, got a free hit before dodging again and then used my runic attacks. If she came in for the close quarters blind, I just dodged twice and threw the axe, dodged her 3rd attack and kept on the offense. When she flies into the air I would throw my axe because this would knock her down. I just repeated those maneuvers until she eventually died. I probably should've fought her above tier 4 gear, but she was super fun to fight.

I started playing this game and on Christmas 2020 and beat it February 7th only playing it every two weeks. Fighting the valkyries was so much fun. Defeating Sigrun was exhilarating. I started playing on Challenge mode and this was my first God of War game that I played, though I watched my younger brother play the first three on the PlayStation 2 and 3 consoles. I am a big fan of this game and my New Game Plus is saved on God of War mode. Sigrun is a great fight, I only hope that there is a selected boss fight rerun in the future to replay fighting favorite bosses like The Valkyries, though it’s possibly a missed opportunity since it the mode is not on this game and the two sequels will already have them defeated... unless you can fight them as a training mode in the new games for resources or something. Hm... the Valkyries track is my favorite in the game too.

When this game came out I didn’t pay much mind to them Individually, so filled with fury at their difficulty (at first), I barely remembered the names of any of them other than Sigrun (because of Mimir’s love for her) and Fraya (because we’ve seen her more). I didn’t think the were…more than what we saw. And I didn’t know so many of them had died during Ragnarok. I didn’t know that Sigrun, Eir, and Gunnr were the only ones left. And after hearing their tales in Valhalla…d-n I wish I had gotten to know them more. And it pains me to see those two like this again. The irony of my ire for them not being lost, not my shame. I didn’t know what to expect from them, figuring they were all, value and cold, or ruthless like Fraya and Sigrun. But to hear their shame, they’re growth…d-n I wish we had more time to know them. I don’t even remember the names of the others beides Gunnr and Eir.
