As a kid playing the OG FF7 I used my imagination to think what the characters' voices may of sounded like (and we probably all did back in the day). I would of never imagined in a million years Cait Sith having a scottish accent but it fits him so well. I never watched Advent Children or any other FF7 media so I have nothing to compare it to.

Great rendition of Barret and Dyne's showdown. And that Cloud reassurance afterwards? Lovely character moment. For my personal opinion I think the story flows better with the last stand. Cloud and crew were on the run and wrongly accused for dyne's attack on GS so it makes more sense that this would be resolved in a last stand rather than dyne throwing himself from the cliff. Dio learns the truth through the listening device regardless but this better solidifies shinra as the evil company that it is and makes more sense as dyne attacked the GS specifically to get revenge against shinra and die in a hail of bullets. It's more in line with that archetype

LMAO at Chadley's alien disguise. Palmer aquired a cowgirl harem at the resort. On a deep spiritual level, Rude wants Elena to die. Barret and Dyne got done dirty by Shinra. Anytime the phrase 'carry the/ that weight' is mentioned in anything you know someone is/ will suffer. Dio has excellent tastes in gifts.

I guess having Dyne "Hamburger Time" himself is too much of a grim reality these days so we are forced to look the other way and pretend it didn't happen like that in the original game. Elena with an ice pop really goes to show what a kid she still is and isn't as mature as she would like to believe.

Graphics are hit and miss (beautiful hair, light shadows sometimes look terrible, great animation for the most part), definitely the most next-gen graphics I've seen so far. It only took them 3 years!!

There is few Remakes I would want see before FF5. Like FF8 Remake would make sense on many levels (good story but horrible gameplay and pacing). Then FF9 also would be nice (again, good story but horrible graphics). Even FF10 (should integrate with FFX-2 and make it less annoying). They also could make remake of FF6 (the actual best FF game). Then I in fact do see point in FF5 remake.

As glad as I am that FF7 still has so much admiration after so many years, I'm one of those people who feels like, if the original was good enough, there's no real reason for a remake. This game and its predecessor are fine, no question, but I question if it'll be looked back on as fondly as the 1997 classic once a few years have passed 🤔
