Hey Marc, I've been binging your videos lately. After a traumatic experience with art as a kid (weird story) I suddenly stopped practicing any form of art. Now 25 years later I've picked up a pencil again, quickly moved to ink which is where I found your videos. I've been looking at my ink drawing and seeing them in color. I'm looking forward to diving into your watercolor content. Art heals.

Glad that you were able to overcome your childhood art trauma, and that you found my art channel!

Hi Padre186, sorry to hear about your experience but yes, art heals. Glad that you're drawing again! Similarly, I've just started drawing again after 42 years and Marc's art channel is really helping me. I wish you all the best in your artistic adventures. And of course, thank you Marc. I appreciate that your art videos have a relaxed & pleasant atmosphere, yet are seriously intense and contain a non stop flow of super useful info with nary a wasted word.

Hey Marc I'm putting a comment here on your most recent video in the hope you're more likely to see it. I just want to say your videos are excellent and being a fellow artist I appreciate the information you have provided in a no nonsense methodical manner with all the information that matters. Here I'm principally referring to the information and advice and recommendations about fountain pens which I have now also adopted for use in my art. There are many pretenders to the throne who go on endlessly without any context about the way in which an actual fountain pen can be used and what and what matters to an artist. You have saved me many wasteful hours and probably a lot of money. So thanks....

Thanks for the very kind compliment! I started this channel with the intention of spreading fountain pen information to other artists, and it's super gratifying to know that it's reaching an audience of like-minded people.

This looks great. I will try this out for sure. Up til now I have always mixed the skintone first, and then added darker value.

Hi Marc, I like and appreciate your teaching style and art works and have been watching & learning from you for a while now. On this limited palette instruction, I don’t think you said what the 3rd color was. Can you please let me know? I could guess but would prefer to try and precisely follow the lesson. Thank you.
@mkompan8 күн бұрын
You’re very welcome. The three colors are ultramarine blue, alizarin crimson (hue), and yellow ocher. Glad you found this useful!

As always a terrifically helpful tutorial, thanks Marc! I notice the 12 half pan water-colour set in this video appears in several videos and you used it in our Sketching Workshop (also terrific). What are the 12 colours? I'm putting a W/C set together now. Thanks!

We can’t see your studio is messy. No need to describe it as such. 😁
@mkompan8 ай бұрын
But it is messy, and a point of pride. I distrust studios that are clean. No work being done there. :)
