So StoryOrigin wasn't a slam dunk for me, but if you want to try it out here is a link: Check out StoryOrigin for yourself: storyoriginapp.com/blog/email-marketing-guide?via=mk. I recommend maximizing the service by making the most of the free features first and plan to test the paid version around a book launch.

I’m about to launch my first book and have been building my email list when I started planning my first novel. I also agree with you, that a slow burn to collect email addresses from ideal readers is what I prefer. I would rather have a smaller email list with dedicated readers than a huge email list.

Congratulations on your first book!! Yes, it is tough to build a readership and sometimes it seems like the bigger the better, but I always think a few dedicated fans are better than lots of meh followers. I hope your dedicated subscribers will help your book launch successfully!!

Love your video. Very informative. I believe I will go with Story origin and see what they have to offer. I believe that book funnel is similar. I will need to do a comparison.

I love hearing objective honesty, whether good, bad or ugly. Thank you M.K.- -most appreciative. I have a few respectful suggestions about the video. Please tell the listeners, in advance, the topics that will covered. I thought the video should have been shorter. I found myself eagerly waiting to get to the bottom line with a written check-list to make it easier for the listeners (and readers). During your next video, please compare similar companies, so listeners can understand the pro’s and con’s at the same time. Thank you very much for the url link.

You mention that you have a ton of experience with email marketing and that was the one thing you didn't focus on. You also talk about how email marketing can be done right and wrong. I would love to see a video that goes into all that "detail" you have from your experience!

Hi S.D., Oh man, my eyes may be twitching as I record it, but okay. I'll get to work on scripting that one. May need to have a wine glass in my hand too :)

I have the first book of a horror trilogy coming out soon and was taking a hard look at Story Origin because Dale Roberts recommended it highly, but I am very leery of anything that wants as annual fee. I want to send out some ARCs ahead of publishing my book, but don't want to spend a lot of money as a $100 can pay for a lot of formatting.

Hi FC, I think StoryOrigin can be very helpful for certain genres. I don't write horror so I didn't get to test that out. Dale does have a horror short story out right now so he may be able to comment specifically on any pick up for that genre. Or you could probably post in the StoryOrigin FB group before signing up and ask if there are other horror writers or newsletter swap groups forming. Based on that feedback you can tell if it will be a popular genre there or not. Best of luck with your first book!

I have both, Book funnel and StoryOrigin. But it's beginning to be too much financially for me. I have to choose one. I would like your take on this. Which one is better...?? Anyone??
@1MKWilliams3 жыл бұрын
I haven't tried book funnel yet. My plan is to sign up and try it out so I can do a comparison video.

Which one is better story Origin or books2read?
@1MKWilliams2 жыл бұрын
I didn't have success with Story Origin in terms of the newsletter swaps and email list growth. Books2Read is great for the universal book links.

Interesting video. I pretty much focus on KZbin and just say "support me by buying my book" :)

That's a great way to do it. I know I need to have a multichannel marketing approach, but it is so much to balance. I'm going to focus on slow and steady growth and see how it goes from there.
