I knew I forgot something! Cyber Sub's F12 string is +2 on block and launches when droned. A super useful tool that you want to use in part of your pressure game. F12 into NJP catches them pressing buttons if they poke after, and if you condition them to block after f12, it allows you to open up your mixup game with a grab or b1/b3. Would have been much easier to show, but there's so much to this character I forgot to mention it.

PNDK&M I would be very interested to see you play Djvictoria 19 in a cyber sub mirror match. im not sure how practiced she is in this game nowadays, but i can tell you she used to destroy me with this character. she plays on xbox and i think that match would be fun to watch.

PNDK&M you can combo off of non droned f12, but it's not big combos, just 10-15% easiest combo I can think of is f12, d1, 111, db4

I maimed cyber sub when he first came out..but I've got back to mainjng Jason for a long time now...but I'm gonna go back to playing CS just cuz he's so sick and I miss it tbh

Off of F12 in the corner you combo 114 into ice ball allowing you get a drone continue into a hard knockdown. I tend to use it so I can continue pressure or to set something up

Ya Boi Bobby first of all thanks so much for your comment I've never thought of that, after a bit in practice I've found out that the biggest non droned and meterless combo in the corner with f12 is - f12, f12, 114 into ice ball, b2, f131 into slide (36%) or you can go for a bomb setup - f12, f12, 114 into close ice bomb (27%)

Also with the drone is the only way you can njp the back 2. If you do the regular back 2 and then try to extend the combo with an njp you'll just splat them.

I think I only knew half of the things you showed here I just think you forgot to mention that he can combo in the corner from nondroned F12.. As a CSZ main, I enjoyed your guide man. One thing I probably will start incorporating is using b3d4u3 ender for close had setup to 50/50. I do like that and I see the benefits of it! There are quite a few things you did miss however that I feel you should have mentioned. F4 Iceball works mid screen, F4 Ex Ice Beam jails and I think can counter people ducking the full F43 string. B3 ice ball vs females even at close range can be very inconsistent which will force CSZ players to commit to EX Ice Beam or the full b3u4 string. There is actually nothing wrong with using b1 2+4 if your opponent shows that they cannot punish it (you won't believe how many people I run into that can't punish it). I'd rather save the bar and only spend it when it hits as opposed to waste the bar on block. Only start using b1 EX Ice Beam once your opponent shows they know the MU and can punish it consistently. Last thing is I think you should have shown some regular corner bnbs. So many times I see CSZ players cut combos short to go for the mix when if they cashed out the damage, it would either kill or put them at chip out territory and it has cost them games because of it. He has standard 111, F13, B1, B3, and F4 bnbs that range anywhere between 32%-38% meterless.

Awesome video. So if I understand correctly, you can block the meaty bomb to B3D4 if you practice on it enough, then you need to block the pseudo 50/50 at the end of either 21-> Slide or 213 and only the slide can leave you frozen for combo extension. Did I miss anything? Also, one question: If I can't jump after the bomb because CSZ can just catch me with a jumping kick and kick me right back to the bomb, then what should I do then?

I found that for midscreen if you land a njp or b2 do a s3 x df2 (far icebomb setup) if you do f3 it catches jump attemps and makes you safe on block. I do this instead of s4 x bomb unless im really going for a 50/50 but they can jump out of all that easily. S3 far icebomb gives you enough frames to either run and grab to get the freeze or f3 pressure

PNDK&M Big fan. When applying pressure with cyber sub would it be better to jump in or go for a low / over head? because some people delay there wake up so which would you recommend? also a hellfire scorpion would be helpful or a thunder god raiden. great video

It just depends on your situation. Off a jump in, B3/B1 is good if you have meter to make it safer on block. If your opponent is letting you jump for free you may as well. If you hit them with a few divekicks, they tend to sit and wait for divekick so they can punish, which in turn gives you free jump ins. It's all about what your opponent is doing about your pressure.

cyber sub also has 7 brutalities available. granted, like the other triborg variations, there are 4 variations of the grab brutality and im counting them separately. Reason for this is the final animations are different. in addition, enhanced dive kick as the final hit, enhanced droned ice ball and uppercutting a frozen oppenent are also brutalities.

an additional tip with learning cyber sub is to learn the basics of cyrax. because of the relationship between bomb and stun moves. iceball for cyber sub and the net with cyrax. it helped me and i thought others my find this useful with understanding combo and move application.

I wouldn't say that. They play totally different to one another. If you wanna learn CSZ, just play CSZ.

At the beginning you said that Cyber Subzero NJP is Mid which is correct however I think you should have mentioned that all character normals are Mid if they are done as soon as the character jumps and if a normal is done while coming down after jumping that it is a Overhead.

The term "his njp is his best mid" is because you use the NJP in situations you would normally crush something with a mid. Obviously it's only a mid on the way up. F12 = +2, so f12 into NJP will crush most pokes for example. In instances sektor or smoke will b2 to hit pokes, CSZ can NJP. Not all situations, but the general premise behind the NJP is why i called it mid. You'll rarely use NJP to be overhead.

Thanks for clearing to up, but I mentioned it solely because if you watch the video the first instance when you did it it was Mid and then later in the video it registered as Overhead which may confuse others who do not understand why it registered as such. Seeing that this is the restart of your Tutorial series I was expecting Sektor since your Ketchup lol, also where is Mustard. I havent been keeping up, so is he married now or still engaged and when will we see Mr and Mrs Mustard battle it out in a fun MKXL match for couples lol?

Basic overview = here are the moves and easy combos Advanced overview = how does this character fit into the meta, what is their general gameplan, what are all the practical uses for their moves/key strings/normals. practical setups off common situations. Just to name a few. I cover the latter in these overviews. A basic overview could be done in 5 minutes if you don't go into detail. You also confused my wording with something else. What i mean is that these videos are a very basically produced and simple. Run over in real time without editing, as it's easier for a lot of people to follow step by step.

Yes, if NRS had been a little more upfront about patches rather than let Tyler make that non-committal "we'd like to keep supporting this with patches" when this last patch was displayed on stream, this series could've restarted sooner. Personally I'd say that why play Cyber-Sub and spam ice when you can play Sektor and spam rockets. I really thought I'd like Smoke best out of the 'borgs but the only one I could get any grip on was Sektor. Of course that was not long before I stopped playing. Frankly I'm amazed there have still been some big prizes for MKX this year. Anyway, I don't know how this guy is fun to play, so much work when others are practically gods if you put in that much effort. To each their own, I guess. When Injustice 2 content rolls around it will be nice (for me) to not have any stake in it.
