Thank-you for this very helpful review! I own the Neewer Vision 4 and have found it to be reliable and consistent and easy to use. I have been considering going to Godox, because as you shared, it has "the future" feeling of being around. And yet...the Neewer has been SO good that I don't see replacing it until I have to! Thanks again for your help!

@@scottsater You are very welcome. I do this as a business and a hobby, so the end question is often a balance between the best tool and the most sensible solution. I will likely run these lights into the ground before replacing them, but if a job come up that requires a different tool, then that would be what's needed to push me into another line

Thanks for the video! Finally someone reviewing Neewer stuff! I have two Vision 4s. Use them all the time for real estate stuff and portraits. Yes, they are not as flexible (power change over the remote) as my Godox AD600. But I didn't know about the grouping and the Neewer remote! So I learned something today! But for the money: Visons 4s are great flashes and as you mentioned have great stamina. Battery works, even with many, many pops for real estate, for more than a week.

Yeah the grouping with the Visico trigger really made my day when I figured it out. I usually set them all to full or minimum, then I can keep track of what the power level is mentally when I adjust them. It is also handy to turn on the audio signal when possible, because each adjustment is followed by a beep so you know it has changed power

So does this mean we can control the with an X Pro _c trigger that I use for my AD600s? I also use Q3 Neewer strobes
@fpsmedia3834
@fpsmedia3834 7 ай бұрын
@@midcoasttractorservice9182 I am doubtful, but can't confirm yay or nay. I previously had one of the Neewer portable lights like the Q3 that appeared to have the same trigger as the Vision 4, the same code and everything, but it would not work with the vision lights at all

I have been using the newer vision 4 flash units for over 4 years, I have found them to be reliable and consistent. Use the visico VC-801TX wireless controller and you can individually adjust power settings, and turn the modelling lamp on and off remotely, on up to 4 separate flashes.

hey man, and thanks for the great comparison! I was wondering what godox strobes you were talking about, that are as good or better for the price, that also portable and have batterries? Thanks in advance!

Not sure what you are referring to, sorry. I know the triggers and flash guns as well as the monolights from Godox have remote power adjustments which are not possible with the Neewer ML300. If the Vision 4 is discontinued, the ML300 just doesn't offer the option of growing the system. The Godox monolights like the AB300 and 400 are excellent, and the AD200 is also very good and though they cost more, the system has more potential down the road.

Great review! I was wondering about how long do the batteries last?
@fpsmedia3834
@fpsmedia3834 5 ай бұрын
Thanks for the feedback. The batteries last a decent amount of time on the V3 lights. I shot 143 soccer players last week, over 2 days, then shot boats for 4 hours another day, and food another day for 2 hours. I had 3 lights, 4 batteries. By the end I had 2 dead batteries, so I'd say they lasted well - note my lights are now about 4 years old

Sure thing. Let me know if you have questions! If you want hss and ttl, it's better to look at the Godox, depending on budget

@@fpsmedia3834 Thank you for your response. My budget is around $300-400 USD. Why I wanted Vision 5 is because of the price! HSS would be nice but since it's my first strobe, anything works! I need it for outdoor daytime shoots. Any suggestions?
@fpsmedia3834
@fpsmedia3834 Жыл бұрын
Cool, first strobe too, good for you. In your budget, I would consider the godox flash units, instead of the strobes. The reason is that they have hss and the system can grow with you. Then you can learn to use manual settings and ND filters with the safety net of having hss. The vision 4 and ml300 strobes are totally manual, slowing the process if you haven't got a good base of Intuitive experience. The benefit with the strobes is you get more power and huge batteries, with ready access to modifiers. But the drawback is that it takes more practiced skill to use them outdoors in sunlight with people. Food for thought, most lighting now performs really well

I personally don't use hhs, even though I have several flashguns with it. I have variable nd filters, and the vision 4 flashes have variable flash duration. Hss doesn't have as much power although it is convenient for on-the-fly work.

Hi Brian, thanks for watching. The trigger I use (818tx) came with my vision 5. I am told the v5 os discontinued by Neewer, but I believe you can still find them under the visico name from suppliers in the US and China for around $70-90. I ordered my lights from amazon.ca

@fpsmedia3834 Жыл бұрын
@@Brian.Channel Absolutely. The lights come with a basic trigger, so learning to set your lights manually isn't a bad thing. When you get practice, you'll be able to recognize what power you want at what distance and in what conditions. These are really great starter lights, and the 818 trigger can extend their value if you don't have the budget for elincromes or godox or something high end
