Hey so firstly great vids, really interesting to see . So i need your advice, ive a 2010 ML63. Recently my airmatic is making a loud hissing noise (from compressor area,) when lowering and rising. It's still functional but there is obviously an issue . Maybe a faulty valve, lose connection etc any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks man

Thank you! And hmm hard to say, you’d have to get underneath and see what’s actually leaking but definitely sounds like it could be one of the valve block connections but I’m no expert

I wonder if the ride would be better with the new pump and you should change the filter to keep the system working properly.

Hahaha ! Won’t lie, it lowered looks outstanding totally pulls it from the family vehicle to more of a sports car. I got my ML63 about a month and half ago and absolutely love it! My previous was a 4.8I e70 X5 that cost me 12grand in coolant and oil repairs a total waste. I will be 100% lowering my ML63 as stock height is very tall, enjoy your videos dude thanks for all the DIYs !

Haha yeah I really like the lowered look too but I couldn’t handle the ride quality. And nice!! Enjoy the ML63, it’s fun! Keep us posted on what you end up doing to it

I thought using the after market links on my W164 ML63 but I worried about ride quality and you proved my theory right on the quality of ride .. the merc tech also said the lower you go the front tyre will lean in more and it kill your tyres I don’t like stock ride height but my comfort is far more important.. we tried to also lower the car via STAR and it didn’t want to save the new values and it would default back to factory settings so thank you for confirming my theory✌️

Yeah it wasn’t great - even tried coming up a little but I just couldn’t get it to ride comfortably so I just went back to stock height. Maybe the star would feel a little different or be able to be fine tuned better but I’m not sure

Did you not have to recalibrate the height sensors after this? I installed new air shocks, new air block, and new bags in the rears and cant get my 09 ml63 to sit right. Almost like it sits at the right height while parked but once i start it and drive it wants to ride about 3" too tall. Even bought a Launch X431 V elite which claims it can do recalibrations

I didn’t have to, the sensors should still read the same way and the computer is still set to have the car sit a certain height, unless the 2009 is different from the 2007 somehow I’m not sure sorry

Hey dude so recently and occasionally , my 2009 ml63 when shutting vehicle off the airmatic compressor still runs and won't shut off. I have to raise and lower it again then it will shut off I have no warning lights and vehicle is not sagging it all raises and lowers fine just that damn compressor won't shut off , it happened the first time 3 days ago and happened just now. What could be possibly wrong? only 97k on it

Ah I’m not sure, seems like a control module issue if the compressor is working, ride height sensors are working, then it’s probably coming from further up the chain. I’m not sure which module controls the airmatic system but I’d think it’s related to your issue. Sorry I can’t offer something more definitive
