My boy Shohei Ohtani needs an MVP for DH then a Cy Young and a World Series ring!. With this guy I do believe it’s possible if he bounces back from Tommy John
@CoachAndrew773 ай бұрын
e'll have all of those *IF* he navigates the rest of this season and his recovery to the mound without incident. If the elbow gives him any more problems pitching, he will likely end up the greatest right fielder in Dodgers history and collect about 4-5 more MVPs and a fistful of world series rings and have to settle for that. Not a bad backup plan...

"Eating chicken fingers in between innings" Well, I guess we know the difference between DeRo and Ohtani's career

Exactly my thoughts. Ohtani might be hitting from tee between innings but no chicken fingers for sure.

Shohei will be the first DH to win the MVP. I won't accept any arguments.

Harper is a hot head. He's good, yeah, but I have a problem with him being so damn surly to other players because anywhere else that little guy would get dropped. Only in the safety of the game that is used to his antics can he survive.

Bryce has matured so much. If you think Bryce acts the same way he used to, you clearly don’t watch him or the Phillies.

3:52 Ohtani will win it just off his name. If. Harper didn’t get hurt, he deserves it.

No? Even if you just put everyone’s batting stats on a table with no names on it he would still have a solid claim to winning it

Therez still another half of season to go. Perhaps too early to predict MVP before Sep. To take Ohtani as an example, he had been in a serious slump between mid May and early June. If Ohtani were in a slump again somewhere in Aug or Sep, he WILL NOT be the MVP. Conversely, Judge has shown his consistency since mid May and seldom stuck in a severe slump.
@adrian-o6t3 ай бұрын
That's a really embarrassing comment. Aaron has been injured every year. He's only been healthy in 2022. Ohtani has the advantage in terms of continuity.
@Ffollies3 ай бұрын
Judge was in just a big if not bigger slump for a longer period of time to start the season. Judge is not more consistent than Ohtani. Yeah Judge has been better over the last month, but he got off to a really slow start for over a month, what I would call a severe slump. Plus he gets hurt just as much if not more, despite not pitching like Ohtani does. And BTW why are you comparing Judge to Ohtani? They are not in the same league. Ohtani's main competition for MVP is Harper right now, and he's injured.
@cpaiTMU3 ай бұрын
@@Ffollies I appreciate your comments. Yes totally agree with you that perhaps Judge should not be compared with Ohtani as they are not in the same league. However, comparing their consistency or other batting indicators such as plate discipline, exit velocity, or barrel percentage is good fun. I am a big fan of both Ohtani and Judge, but in my very personal opinion, Judge outperforms Ohtani in terms of discipline, exit velocity, or barrel percentage.
@Ffollies3 ай бұрын
@@cpaiTMU Yeah I'm a fan of both too. Stats wise, Judge has outperformed Ohtani in the past 3 years (2021-23) which is when Ohtani had his best years, and I do think that right now, Judge is a slightly better hitter overall. I just disagreed on the part of consistency but oh well, that's kind of hard to prove so I guess we will have differences of opinion on that part. But I do enjoy watching both play.
@cpaiTMU3 ай бұрын
@@Ffollies Well said~ I am an Asian myself. I am satisfied with how far Ohtani has reached right now - he has been tier 1-hitter overall, followed by Judge.
@NicholasLozada-x1z3 ай бұрын
A DH is just is a hitter and that's what Ohtani is just a hitter atleast for this year and he is not even close of hitter as Aaron Judge! Aaron Judge is already a historical great hitter! This is ridiculous already Judge hands down no debate will be the MVP

They aren’t in the same league anymore so it’s not really a relevant comparison. Henderson is judge’s true competition.
