@@calem44 i dated a guy who played some minor league baseball and he played for a Single A team in a relatively small town. The town was all about supporting that team, though- Jeff (the ex) said he got spoiled playing there because while there weren't sellouts, the weekend games in particular were one of the only things to do there so thats what everyone did- go to the game. He said that people in the town knew the names and stats for every player, and while he was in the bullpen, they'd chat with fans and find out where the "after party" was gonna be, what was going on in everyone's life, etc etc. Just a really cool experience it seems from what he described. He said he was heartbroken whenhe was cut- just as hurt to be leaving that team and town as he was to not play baseball anymore.
