Known in the sports betting industry as Ace, Vegas-Runner, & Gianni the Greek, professional sports bettor & handicapper Gianni Karalis has been known as one of the most esteemed movers in Las Vegas for over 20 years. VR broke into the industry as a bookmaker in Philadelphia in the late 1980's and by the mid-90's he was moving steam with the most profitable and respected betting syndicates at that time. Ace started out stationed as a runner at the Stardust Race & Sports Book which at the time was the center of the universe for sports betting. They took pride in putting out the opening lines for everything, and were willing to take a nice sized bet even from the sharpest of bettors. His job was to wait for "buy orders" that came via two-way radios and then get down as much money as possible at the desired price. Eventually the offshore sports book industry exploded and the game was changed forever on how wiseguys used betting syndicates to get their action down.
Though he had nothing to promote, Gianni was a guest on the famous Stardust Line radio show due to his reputation for being a runner for many of the most respected wiseguys. Almost all the other guests were "pick sellers" and the opportunity for him to sell his information arose and Vegas-Runner was born.
The experience was like nothing Ace had expected and he was afforded a front row seat to the "pick selling" industry. He offered his service to a few different sites and saw many good and bad practices and habits. During that experience VR could be heard on local and national ESPN, FOX, CBS, Yahoo radio and more. He's been seen and featured on a CNBC sports betting special, a NY Times Magazine expose on sports betting, "The Best of It" sports betting documentary, monthly on the UFC on FS1 Pre-fight Show., and more. He's also written for Gaming Today and many other publications and newspapers through the years.
2018 marks Gianni the Greek's "5th" straight documented year of beating the books and turning a profit over a statistically significant sample size. Like Ace says, "I can't guarantee I'll win for you over every sample size because there's a lot of randomness to small ones, but over a statistically significant sample size there's nothing your bookie can do to stop you from taking his money if you manage your bankroll correctly".

So much gold, appreciate it more than you know! Quick question about risk and units. We talk about bet sizing and ROR which I fully understand. But if our avg bet size is 3% (0.75%) plus vig, we really only have 120-130 units in our bankroll, not 400 because we don't bet 1% plays (0.25%) rarely ever. Can we touch on this and go over our risk profile with 120 unit bankroll. Obviously re-sizing at 50% prevents ruin along with previous profits rolled in, but I would have to think 120 units only would be higher than the 20% ROR we talk about Thanks as always!

just to touch base with you gianni. these are the reasons i called the waterson gomez a not sharp play to me. first off i never called you a non sharp i was refferring more to the syndicate they gave you that play. the reasons were derived from my personal handicapping of that fight. one is that waterson is too small for the division so i knew that when grappling exchanges happened she would suffer there. 2. she was on a 4 fight losing streak coming into the fight. 3 on a more personal note i track my tapology history of fading her and i was 4-0 going into that fight now 5-0 after that one. i do have to understand more that you are betting numbers more so then who you might think will really win or lose sometimes. but im a believer of i can give you plus a million on a crap pick and if it dont cash for you. you still end up with zero. im just a bit tired of people justifing crap picks with the fact that they were plus money plays. so no harm no foul i tune in everyday and enjoy the show. i do think you are helping me become a better sports gambler at the end of the day. its just that i know we wont always agree on the picks.

Ace Haven’t seen anything that matches my cap last couple days! And that’s great too ! Because I just wait until they line up! Not in rush! $$$ is only thing that matters! I had 1 system bet yesterday! My uncle when I was 12 taught it to me! Texas broke losing streak and at home Padres broke winning streak and on Road! Been betting it for 50 years! Percentage is astounding!! Most people just bet a side that breaks a streak! It has to be perfect both sides home away too!don’t happen often! But over 70% if everything lines up ! Added analytics to it! It is great!!

One suggestion: can't wagertalk pull your results from when you started in 2017 and you can post it at the opening of this show: 2017 - result, 2018 - result, 2019 - result etc. and also have a running YTD result for 2024 that is updated daily. This would assist in you not having to repeat you are profitable the last 8 of 9 years, as it will be evident at the opening of the show.

Ace Question: why get in front of a hot streak? If the Mets are crushing every night why bet against them? I mean the line isn't that far out of the normal so why get in front of such a hot streak? Shouldn't those kinds of bets just be a lay off. Also with NFL coming up do you get in front of hot streaks also? Thanks for everything?

Hot batting, tired bullpens on both sides. Bet the over. Even if the Mets struggle to put up as many runs I believe the total goes over either way. Both games extra innings. I think the hot bats stay hot tonight.

@@ghxstreborn that's fine but in general my question is why jump in front of a hot streak/team unless the odds are way off, if they are regular odds then take into account that the team is kicking ass and either bet them or stay off a side, why keep trying to predict when they will lose?
