I am not a hardcore baseball fan but do okay the game off and in and I always do a fantasy draft to get my team. It is my favorite part of the game. Thanks for doing this.

Been doing these drafts for years and there's definitely some consistencies. I also have some recommendations. 1) As someone else stated, but should be reiterated, relief pitchers start going at round 9. Plan on taking the best relief pitcher in round 8 to be your closer. (Bryan Abreu, Brusdar Graterol, etc.). Picking a closer any earlier than that is not worth taking imo. 2) Take an Ace pitcher in your first few picks. If you want a stud 2nd pitcher, take them ealier if you want, but I recommend taking your 2nd and 3rd starters with your 13th and 14th picks. In round 14, the computer starts taking a bunch of quality starters such as Christopher Sanchez, Ryan Wells, Walker Buehler, and younger stars like Shane Baz & Jackson Jobe. 3) There's a few positions I recommend taking fairly early because there's not a lot of young quality players at these positions and they go quick: 1B, 3B, catcher, and Right Field. 2nd base, center and left field have a lot of quality players available in the mid teen picks such as Luis Arraez, Brendan Rodgers, Kyle Schwarber, Cedric Mullins (even Byron Buxton & Randy Arozarena recently). 4) Take the rest of your relief pitchers between picks 20-25. At round 26, the best remaining high rated and young high potential pitchers go. I like taking players here like Chase Petty, Jack Leiter, Quinn Preister, Max Meyer, Ty Madden, Kumar Rocker & Blake Walston. 5) Roster are constantly updating, but the items I noted above remain consistent. The best part about updated rosters is seeing quality players fall. Recently, Bo Bichette dropped to like a 5th round pick, Buxton and Arozarena are available later, etc.

Relief pitchers don’t get taken until round 9. It’s been like this for years. You can take abreu in the 8th and have him as your closer vs taking a good closer in the higher rounds. Just a tip

Also look at secondary positions. For example you can take tommy edman a CF and move him to 2B same with Jazz.

What would you recommend in regards to drafting lower overall but higher end prospects that go early? I'm looking to start my fantasy draft franchise tonight after a few test runs. Guys like James Wood (66 OVR) go in the early double digit rounds and I want to draft him but feel I'm sacrificing a lot of value at that picks for a guy who won't produce in the big leagues for at least two years or will be stuck in AAA the first couple years while he develops into a better hitter.

To add onto this for top prospects is there certain overalls or attribute rankings you look for to see if a guy will produce? I know in game certain attributes play more of a factor compared to attributes while simming but I don't have a great idea what those attributes are that dictate a players performance.

Currently on round 51 (I was under the assumption it was 50 rounds based on a 9 yr. Old Reddit post from one of the older games. Couldn’t find a straight answer online as to how many rounds there are…. Currently 1:59am when I see this and find out how long it is.

Are you on xbox series x? Ive tried 20 drafts and the game crashes back to the xbox home page after several picks every single time. The farthest ive made it before the crash is round 23
