It means he isn’t just throwing as hard as he can but he is really trying to fool hitters and apply spin. Pitchers who just reach back and try to throw as hard as they can are not pitching like a true pitcher

It really need to be emphasized that Luke Jackson gave up 5 of the 7 ERs the Giants Bullpen allowed in this entire series. The Giants Bullpen not named Luke Jackson gave up 2 ER in 24.2 IP. Luke Jackson gave up 5 ERs in just 2.2 IP in this series. Absolutely awful series by him and really awful managing putting him in a tied game in the 10th inning.

As a Cubs fan, I agree. In fact if he had sold out on a jump, he would have timed it perfectly with his route. He even stopped and turned like it was going to hit off the wall (which it did) but it seemed like he was in a great position to rob it.

My family are historically Giants fans, but I personally didn’t grow up watching baseball. When I picked a team this year to get interested in the sport, I was directed to the Dodgers by a very helpful article. Anyways, despite the rivalry between L.A. and San Francisco, I have a soft spot for the Giants. This is going to be a fun series.

He's been really bad this season... difference between aggressive and stupid. Ian Happ is not fast, equals stupid. He sends slow dudes home to get thrown out, often, and it's never close.

I dont really agree. The Cubs are unable to hit a beachball with runners in scoring position, and the odds of Happ scoring there was arguably higher than if they trusted someone to get a hit with him on third.

Yes, and to be fair, Bote is not a good fielder and if you watch he called it super late. As a "veteran" he's got to call that and move faster, much earlier. But that's why he's been in the minors so long, not really a majors talent.

Counsell’s lifetime record as a manager is 744-665. Winning% of 528. I think he knows how to manage. He’s in his first year with this team and is still figuring things out. This team is not that talented but I’m sure they will be better in the 2nd half of the season. Hopefully!

KEY players who we signed for KEY moments MISSED opportunities and didn't come through. According to me they should be 72-0 (they out and out BLEW several games this year through non-timely hitting). Championship teams DO NOT do this. They ALWAYS find a way to get it done. So far this year, the Giants have not done this. Yes, they should have won this game BUT failed SEVERAL times to get the "big hit" when it was needed. THAT is my point.

He was good through 5. You could tell he's tired... possibly why he was scratched from yesterday to today(might be fatigued with transition to MLB in the first half). If Cubs had more reliable bullpen options, a smart coach would have pulled Imanaga after 5.
