I havent watched MLB since i was like 12 years old when it was amazing ( Bonds, Sosa, Mark M. era) This man is doing it with no steroids and making baseball awesome to watch again. Holds the bat like a Samurai Warrior and looks at the pitcher like he wants to kill the ball

Ohtani's just warming up. He has these slight slumps, then picks it up one game at a time until he's red hot and holds that for a week. Just in time for the World Series. Side note, Muncy has 8 walks in the last 3 games. And he has homeruns and hits. It's great seeing Ohtani have teammates that carry their own weight.

@@uptoti817 innings is a stretch but they definitely pitched around him the next 3 at bats. They were down big towards the end so they had to go at him, should’ve just done that the whole game. Dodgers lineup is too stacked up top to pitch around him, point was proven in this game

@@Maxtor-ve5nu To be fair, I think the Mets strategy is quite stupid. I mean, yes, Ohtani is deadly. However, if you play him straight on, you will have a chance to get rid of him. However, if you leave him on the base, you are giving Mookie Betts a opportunity to clean up. In terms of pure hitting, Betts isn’t any worse than Ohtani. In game 5, I think Mets should just play Ohtani straight on. If Ohtani beats them with insane hitting, so be it. But if he doesn’t, we got game 6 and 7 in LA.

The Mets took the gamble to walk Ohtani instead of risk giving up a home run but unfortunately lost. It is what it is, there is no right or wrong in the strategy.

No, it is the wrong strategy. Ohtani is my favorite player, however, in terms of pure hitting, you can argue Mookie Betts is even deadlier than Ohtani. Why are the Mets intentionally leaving Ohtani on the base so that Mookie Betts can clean things up? It is a bad strategy.

That 1st inning lead-off home run had to cause some *emotional damage* after his homer the previous game. The only thing the Mets can take away from this game is getting the strikeout against Ohtani with the bases loaded. On the other hand, you know that didn't sit well with Shohei. Look out for some big swings in game 5.

Shohei was struggling with bases empty at the plate. But he is an intelligent hitter and made the adjustment from going after bad pitches to taking pitches. Accepting the Walk, and waiting for his pitch to turn on. The Dodgers' bats are smoking-hot, can their pitching hold up?
