Clase is taking heat for his performance against the Yankees but the Yankees have just had the approach most teams don’t against him. You can’t try to pull the man, his stuff is just overwhelming. You have to try to hit the ball the other way. Think CF to the opposite field. Both games that they got to him, they just tried to shoot the ball the other way or to CF. No one who had success did it by pulling the ball. Sometimes just a great hitting approach makes the difference. Clase is the best reliever in the league, tip your hat to the hitters for a great approach.

Although Ny lost this was my fav moment of the season. Judge/Stanton back to back. Pretty much the only guys that can take Clase deep with a line drive shot to right field like that. Both Homers were similar

Why Clasé went cutter away on 4 straight pitches to Judge is beyond me. I was surprised he threw the third to Judge because Judge was just barely missing it (and he crushes pitches away). I thought to myself, “please don’t go cutter away again on the 4th pitch in a row”. Lo and behold. Clasé did something similar to Kerry Carpenter in the ALDS but it was 3 sliders in a row. As for Stanton, the fact that he was sitting on that slider is pretty wild. I thought Clasé was going to go cutter away there because he kept throwing cutter in and Stanton kept fouling it off. Great piece of hitting on Stanton’s end.
