As a police officer for 45 years let me help - rules that are consequential must be written down for continuity during the validation stage of passing and accepting the rule set - this is not a set of rules it’s a bunch of stuff little league coaches have their 12 year olds do to keep kids having fun and playing the sport - but when ypu are a professional million dollar athlete n a game where consequences are not just financial but extend to the city buses and team role within the community not hurting the pitchers feeling it no longer a concern . If it is not established and written down then it’s not a rule so do it

To me if the unwritten rule isn't officially written down then I'm not bound by said rules. What's so bad about expressing yourself in the heat of the moment? Nothing wrong with venting that emotion.

@@bryanwunder5246 So if I capitalize off someone's mistake and flip my bat. That's okay to throw the next pitch at someone's ear? LMAO. Explain that logic. I don't see an issue here about bat flipping just like I see no issue with pitchers getting hyped about striking someone out. Explain the issue with bat flipping.

When MLB and half the fanbase started nonstop obsessing over it like it's the greatest thing since sliced bread. Kinda cringeworthy. Bat flips have always been a thing... well before Jose Bautista elevated it to another level. Ortiz, Pujols, Torii Hunter just to name a few, and three star players, typically flipped their bat when they got a hold of one, but nobody ever pointed it out and acknowledged it. I hope MLB and the fans are just in a fad right now, and this omg omg bat flip obsession like we're all 10 year olds will go away. Nothing I hate more than trying to watch highlights, and instead of seeing the ball, the play itself, the cameras focused on the bat flip...

The individuality and expression of the players should be respected. A pitcher strikes out an important outing and celebrates or strikes out, but why not a batter? You just need to refrain from a ceremony that strongly provokes the opponent. And on the bench, both teams know and know if it's a taunt or not. 😉🤨
