The great Wally Bell is used to playing old school baseball, now with all the rules he has to play it different. You can see it on his face he knew he had to do it, although he didn’t want to. A veteran like that has no other choice. The MLB rules are kind of stupid in that category.

It depends on context. If they are trying to separate guys there is no problem with grabbing and pulling. Otherwise no contact is supposed to go on. However someone poking the chest of an umpire while yelling at him is going to be treated differently than a touch on the shoulder while trying to get closer to hear what an umpire is saying.

The broadcasters in the first one are hilarious....1) immediately determine there was no intent....2) criticize the ump for issuing warning (which is there to put an end to any nonsense....3) When Pirate manager is tossed, whine that the ump took away Pirate opportunity for retaliation.....why would they need to retaliate, if there was no intention....oh, and doesn't that mean issuing the warning did what it was supposed to do?
