Equestria Girls feels weird with all the pony characters who are humans having their pony names also it's not fair the writers made Spike a Dog since they could have made him a human who's Twilight's adopted brother and Rarity's boyfriend

That because spike was never a pony to begin with, just think about it for a moment. Dragons are like dogs, and dogs are like dragons. Dogs always barking and Dragons always roar. And beside spike is just a kid and rarity is just a teenager, rarity only see spike as a little brother.
