Fun Fact: Luna has a new singing voice. Instead of Kazumi Evans, a woman named Aloma Steele sang Luna's song in this episode. And personally, I prefer this singer! Her voice is so lovely and haunting. Very fitting for the Princess of the Night.

Imo, Kazumi Evans's voice still works great for Luna for uplifting or inspirational numbers. But for something like this, someone like Aloma with a lower range is definitely better.

This was a good episode, the songs were enjoyable and its funny seeing a MLP version of the Christmas Carol, and I know it wasn't really Applejack but I think she looks adorable with her mane done up in pigtails, nice commentary.

For some reason, my favorite part of a reaction video is when the reactor is summing up the episodes because that's when they get to collect their thoughts properly. And your recap made me notice this: This episode's setup (with Starlight) is basically Kirk Cameron's Saving Christmas done right (boy, was that movie stupid). I think I have a new version of "A Christmas Carol" to watch when Christmas comes now (my favorite is still Mickey's Christmas Carol. Got a favorite one?). With a bit of the Grinch peppered through it (how long until someone writes "You're a mean one, Snowfall Frost"?). I got a bit of a kick out of Twilight imitating Pinkie since I've heard that Tara Strong originally auditioned as Pinkie Pie.

I adored this episode😆. I love a good Christmas Carol adaptation and being this was a adaptation of it but with a MLP flavor it's a match made in heaven. Also it doesn't help that I love the holidays especially here in Chicago. Hopefully this year I'll be able to go out more often than before being my spina bifida and fatty filum is getting worse. I'm planning to get a electronic wheelchair from my doctor and I do plan on celebrating the holiday season here in Chicago.

This was definitely a fun episode. I do love a good Christmas Carol retelling. I think that Jim Carey once said that he considered Scrooge to be the original Grinch since he played both characters in movies. This one had a good story accompanied by awesome songs. And on this video, another fun commentary. =3 Got a fave song from this one or is it too hard to choose?

TPrower While I do like Newbie Dash a lot (I consider it to be RD's third best episode), I agree that it's probably not the best of the season... But that's not saying much, due to the high quality the episodes have overall. Heck, I'd probably go so far as to say that this season is already better than season 5, despite only being about a third of the way through.

I wonder why the hiatus is going to be after episode 12 instead of 13, the exact midway point, this time. Makes me wonder if there's actually going to be a midseason two-parter, and they didn't want to leave us on a cliffhanger.

1. 1:14 "Hiya, Flutters!" It's great seeing her out there pitching in and directing the weather team, taking an active and assertive role. 2. 2:18 We've finally done it. The fans have made Derpy a star. :) 3. 3:09 "Aww, Starlight, don't be such a Scrooge!" But she's so good at it! :) 4. 5:43 I have no idea why Snowfall was tiptoeing there, but she made that walk look gooooood! 5. 7:04 "This is disturbing, yet catchy!" I liked this song much better than _In Our Town,_ which I found to lean much heavier toward the disturbing side. 6. 8:55 "Must be unpleasant having a ghost walk through you." Depends on the circumstances. Ever heard of skelping? 7. 10:38 "Professor Snape!?" I have a hard time believing that even _he_ would stoop so low as to crush the dreams of a little filly during the holidays. 8. 13:22 Screw it, let's break _all_ the walls! 9. 14:31 "Pfffft! Victorian-era Vinyl." She don't need a turntable or a bass cannon to rock the house. All Vinyl needs is that vinyl. 10 15:08 Twilight (singing): "And the reason is to be with your friends!" Fun fact: When Tara Strong first auditioned for MLP: FiM, she tried out for multiple roles, including Pinkie Pie. 11. 17:28 "Oooh, another song!" Not just any song, though. The most anticipated solo performance of the entire brony fandom. 12. 19:25 "Nice spit take!" It wasn't bad, but it was no Pinkie Pie spit take. 13. 21:02 "That warm, fuzzy feeling's coming back..." That was probably just Derpy short-circuiting the tree lights. :) This makes three episodes in a row now that have had fantastic things to react to. First it was Trixie's return, then it was Dashie's impressions, and now we've got Luna's song. I can hardly wait to see what the writers have got in store for us next!

This is not to knock the episode in ANY way, because I enjoy it, flaws and all (not easy for me to do with a parody of A Christmas Carol), but I just now realized that they missed an opportunity here: Why not have the three spirits of Hearth’s Warming be one example each of all three pony kinds: earth pony, unicorn, pegasus? Could they have managed that and still had our familiar friends portraying the spirits? We have Applejack and Pinkie Pie, both earth ponies, and then Princess Luna, an alicorn. I know you can’t have everything, but still, it seems like a natural idea given the origin of the holiday. Anyway, again, that doesn’t take away from the episode we got: it managed a Scrooge parody that I actually enjoy (a difficult feat), even as I recognize that it isn’t perfect.

Honestly, this is the first season 6 episode I will skip. I felt like Twilight was forcing Starlight to enjoy the holiday, the plot did not do much to stand out among the tons of other Christmas carol retellings and songs where just okay with the three sung by the spirits sounding too repetitive for me. However, I will give the episode points for the Professor Snape unicorn even thought I am not a Harry Potter fan.
