theory. When nightmare moon was defeated, she was actually not. She escaped with her ability to transform(the form she had when stalking the mane 6 at everfree forest) and was alive in that form. In a royal problem, she was actually real and not a part of starlight's imagination, able to transform into her real from in the dream world. She was real defeated when celestia defeated both her and daybreaker who was an actual imagination.

I said once, I’ll say it again. If Mlp-FIM wasn’t a show primarily aimed at young children, it would be one of the most screwed-up fictional worlds ever, for instance: Discord is pretty much just a mostly harmless, goofy version of Bill cipher, so it’s safe to say that if discord was say, part of an adult animated show, he’d be even more twisted than Bill ever was, which I actually really wanna see, not gonna lie. Another example is this scene right here, what in the show’s universe was banishing to the moon, would instead be being turned into sub-atomic dust, only to rise again as an unholy spirit or shadow of the moon. Heck, imagine what the changelings would have been, first they drain your emotions and love, than your life Energy to near death, than they consume your soul and lastly your organic remains. I could go on, but ya get the point. This show’s universe can already be pretty dark when ya think about it, without restrictions for the children’s sake, this could easily be a stupidly dark fantasy franchise.

hey this looks really cool ! and its also interesting to pic that moment from the series, atleast i dont have seen it drawn anywhere while other things flood the whole internet, so: good job man ! but i also want to give you a little tipp/advise however you wan tto see it, did you ever tryed to colorate the lineart to increase the light/brightness effect? if your seeking for such intense brightness the dark linearts some times can take away the effect bu ti have seen it by other artits and done that myself is to use the airbrush tool and lighten up the linearts at the parts who are touched by the light, either with direktly a bright color or first orangish yellow tone and then white, it can work magic ! maybe try that out ;3 ohh it took so much space of my comment im almost feel bad im sorry ;w; but the picture really turnd out awesome ! keep the good work up
