The "oh how I used to wonder what friendship could be" is a call back to the opening lyrics when twilight says "I used to wonder what friendship could be, Until you all shared its magic with me." that's heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time because you get this feeling of proudness for twilight because of how much she has grown from day one but it hurts because you know her journey No, our journey with her has ended.... i never knew it could be this deep

Well put! This whole song is such a love letter to this series and references the opening and the Elements of Harmony. Pinkie Pie's "the party will still be here, with some fun new games to try" = "tons of fun", Rainbow Dash's "big adventure's waiting, obviously" = "big adventure", Applejack's "and it's something true to pass on down to generations yet to come" = "faithful and strong" and references her representing the Element of Honesty, Rarity's "and we'll never stop believing in the generosity of the friendships we've won" = "a beautiful heart" and references her presenting the Element of Generosity, and lastly Fluttershy's "and because of the love that I feel for every single living creature is something that is real" = "sharing kindness" and references her representing the Element of Kindness. They've all reached their goals and have achieved their dreams, Rainbow Dash has not only joined the Wonderbolts but became its leader, Pinkie Pie is still having fun and spreading happiness with Cheese Sandwich and their foal, Rarity has attained her dream of becoming a famous fashionista/tailor (though she realized Canterlot wasn't all that she thought it was), Applejack is still working her family farm and helping to raise and teach the next generation of Apples, and Fluttershy is still caring for animals and sharing kindness alongside Discord who has found his own, non-destructive path in life where he can use his abilities for good instead of evil and remain Fluttershy's friend. And, of course, Twilight Sparkle has become the new Princess of Equestria, having finished her friendship lessons, founded her own school of friendship, brought together the different races with the help of her friends, and now has a protege of her own whom she is teaching the magic of friendship to. Truly, this last episode and this song are shining examples of how to satisfactorily end a series. It still makes me so sad though, because this series brought me a lot of joy and taught me some stuff as well. But, better that it ended on a high note instead of dragging on like some other shows unfortunately do, until eventually petering out. It's unfortunate though that G5 has turned out to be such a disappointing successor, or at least that is what I hear. Can't say I'm a fan of the CGI myself, I prefer 2D.

I love how everyone's personalities and tones of voice still come out in their styles of singing. AJ still sounds like a cowgirl, Rarity still sounds like a fashionista and Pinkie still sounds like someone you'd want planning your party. I'm 20 and always wanted to watch this show. Always snuck glances at the tv when big sis watched it. But whenever I wanted to watch it they looked at me weird and with the bullying I went through at school at the time, I didn't need more judgment. But when the pandemic started I began to binge the series and it was everything I hoped for and more. And the last episode felt like I was losing friends I knew for years. I wish I'd watched years ago, but I'm grateful that it helped get me through 2020. This show is special and it will forever be in our hearts.

I was a year or two late into its release, started watching it when I was around 7 in 2011. There's this aching feeling every time I listen to this song and I have to cope with the idea that My Little Pony has ended and I kid you not, when the book closed in the episode I sunk into an hours worth of mourning. I've practically grown up with the main 6, learning the friendship lessons in each episode, nit-picking favourite characters and assigning roles with my friends to fit which pony represented each of us (I was applejack), collected dolls and figurines, downloaded the songs onto MP3, this was the childhood I had and I'll forever cherish every moment of it. Come a day into my old years, if ever a new generation were to mention My Little Pony, I'd find myself smiling, silently thanking the show and the characters for the childhood they gave me

If I just listen to the lyrics before Fluttershy’s part I remember the amazing journey that they’ve had and then I hear her sweet voice and it makes me think that that amazing journey is over. Not to even mention when Twilight says “how I used to wonder what friendship could be” and it brings me back to the first episode and the theme song and then the little tune at the very end after they stop singing that is part of the theme song makes tears literally come to my eyes. what a great song to end the show. i started watching this show when i was grade 1-2 and loved it so much. i still remember playing with my mlp toys and singing "this day aria". i did lose interest since i was in my growing up stage or idk something like that, but im so glad i came back and watched the whole show. i literally learned so much the past 2 months about friendship that i didn't realize i had to learn about. I was 9 when the first season of MLP started airing and it was pretty much my gateway into the internet and fandom culture, I'm not sure if I'd be the same person I am today without it. It's already been 4 years since the series ended and yet I still think about it so often. 2 years it's been. And this song still drives me to tears when I listen to it. I don't care if people say MLP is a kids show. The lessons that we learned from the characters are potentially the greatest lessons you can learn in life. I have never appreciated the honor of watching a series more than I have with My little pony Friendship is Magic.

Childhood TV series are really damn good at making their finales extremely emotional. It’s hard not to shed a tear or two at endings like this one, especially when the final song is this beautiful. I remember I felt the same with Phineas and Ferb’s finale 🤧 This episode’s final take of the Mane 6 gives off the same energy as Phineas waving goodbye at us

Man, when I watched this for the first time, the book closing...just hit someplace deep man. All the memories of shitposting on EQD and BronyNet, the countless conventions, the friends I made that I still interact with to this day, literally meeting my soulmate through the show been together for 11 years, getting up early ON A SATURDAY and watching the new EPs on The Hub, then debating on the forums about it for up to several hours. All that shit came rushing back out to the front of my mind like it happened yesterday. May not be the greatest show I've seen, but it certainly had the most impact. If you told 12 year old me my entire adult life would be made by literally a fricken My Little Pony TV show, he'd probably call the nearest mental institute. The greatest lesson this show taught me was to be yourself and don't let others around you influence who you want to be. And it taught me that lesson in multiple ways: through the actual show, through the friends I made, and through the sheer joy it gave me to see someone's confused face when you told them you were a brony. As life continues to bombard me with adversity, I always seem to come back to this innocent little corner of the internet and lose myself all over again in the memories, old and new. If you read this to the end, stay strong. Never forget to love and tolerate. Lift yourself up as well as others around you. Don't lose that spark that you had when you were part of this fandom. Only then, will the show and it's fandom truly never die.

Ok so heres how it ends: Fluttershy marries Discord and alternates between his dimension and her sanctuary. Angel has many children and grandchildren and is probably dead. Pinkie Pie marries Cheese Sandwich and has a kid named Lil' Cheese. She has Pumpkin and Pound Cake as Lil' Cheese's babysitter and now runs Sugar Cube Corner. Rarity extends her fashion designs so she can also make clothes for other creatures. She gets Yona and Sandbar to work for her in Carousel Boutique. Applejack runs the farm, alongside Big Mac. Big Mac now has a kid and Applejack is the loving aunt. Granny Smith is dead (we find out bcz Applejack is wearing her sash,) and so is Goldie Delicious (We see Apple Bloom wearing her piece of clothing.) Rainbow Dash is leader of the Wonderbolts. Starlight is made Head Mare of The School Of Friendship and marries Sunburst. Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle, and Scootaloo are still besties after they grow up. Twilight is made Princess of Equestria. She meets her friends once a moon (which i believe is every month), has her own School of Magic, and still is the best of friends with the others. Spike is the Royal Friendship Advisor right by her side, and Gallus is one of the Royal Guards.
