I agree with basically all of this tier-list except for neighsay (he should be F lmao) And I have to agree on Tempest being much better than the storm king, who honestly just feels like a “catalyst” of sorts for tempest’s story. Plus his design is realllllyyy basic in my opinion And trixie should get her own trixie tier (she’s just that great and powerful) Also great choice of background music!!!

Great list. Honestly, I never really considered Neighsay a villain. An antagonist definitely, but I an understand where he was coming from at least. He appears in the season right after the Storm King's invasion so his mind is on protecting ponies. Twilight didn't exactly do a great job at explaining what the school was. He asked if it would be a school to teach ponies to defend themselves and she doesn't properly elaborate. As for how he reacts to the other creatures that attend the school, you could understand his skepticism. Dragons had basically been anarchic raiders, griffons and hippogriffs mostly kept to themselves, the latter reluctant to help when the Storm King came for Equestria, the Changelings I don't believe need much explaining, and the Yaks were about to declare a war over a party. Given that, and seeing what the power of friendship can do "weaponized" Neighsay can at least be understood why he wouldn't want any non-pony to have something like that or even believe they are capable of friendship. But solid list and you had my favorite, Tirek ranked in a fair position.

For me there’s 3 answers to my favorite mlp villain. My favorite as a villain is tireck. My favorite as a character is discord. My favorite for nostalgia is nightmare moon (obviously). Sombra is my favorite VILLAIN but Starlight is my favorite character. I'm more of a reformed Starlight fan though so I can't count her as my favorite villain. Sombra in the season three premiere is very ominous despite his lack of dialogue, while in the season nine premiere he's just flipping awesome. I can't picture this show without Sombra. And his backstory in the comics is something else. Love him. Honorable mentions to Discord, Queen Chrysalis, Lord Tirek, and Trixie.

I think Trixie would be a more interesting villain if she was unapologetically evil, was unhinged, and was loosely based on Bellatrix Lestrange minus serving under Voldemort (or in the case of MLP, Discord). EDIT: It would’ve been cool if it was revealed in “Magic Duel” that her showmare bit was a facade to mask her unhinged side from any unsuspecting ponies, and as for “Boast Busters”, she would be the one to summon the Ursa Minor herself and manipulate it into attacking the residents of Ponyville.

honestly idec if neighsay had any justification for his beliefs and actions, he was INFURIATING to watch, and i dont understand celestia not using her power AS THE LEADER OF THE NATION to not put a pony in charge who wasnt discriminatory! this isnt a democracy, girl, youre the queen but just called a princess! damn! hes such an easy F tier to me, if a character is making me actively genuinely mad then it takes away my enjoyment of the show lol

huge mythology fan here. ahuizotl in myth is described as a small dog like creature with a long tail with a hand on the end, dark fur, raccoon like feet and stayed in the water. It is said it was able to mimic any sounds they heard and were said to either pull people into the water to eat or feast on drowned bodies, mostly their eyes, nails and teeth which were the softest and easiest things for them to eat. In reality the creature that inspired the myth was likely just a water possum since they match the description pretty well, raccoon hands, long tail, dark fur, stripes. And they were extremely rare to see since they were nocturnal. So hope that fills you in. Long live those lil wet stripey bois

I mostly agree with the tierlist, aside from the fact that I would've put Starlight and Cozy in S tier. Maybe I just like manipulative villains. But another reason why I like them, is because they connect with the whole theme of friendship on a different level that no other villain does, but also in a completly different way from each other. Starlight is, at her core, a person with strong ideals (even if harmfull ones). She acts out of her own expirience with friendship and never denied importance of connections with others like other villains. Starlight has the right "core" from which grew wrong conclusions. This is also why it made sense for her to be "defeated" trough conversation - villains who operated trough power were defeated with it, Starlight operated trough words and was defeated by them. Not just given a chance at redemption afterwards. Cozy on the other hand uses friendship as a source of power, and honestly - can you blame a child for seeing friendship this way, when we were shown times and times again friendship literally nuking bad guys? She is a reversed Starlight - she has all the right means, but a completly wrong "core" of her worldview. If you think about it this way, it kinda makes sense that they had sort of connection in the episode where they interacted. If we go further, Cozy works really well as a *final* villain, is a sense that she questions the most principal moral of the show, techincally standing by everything that it thaught, but in the most wrong way possible. Kinda fitting that she got send to hell, she's a literall Devil of the show. That's a joke of course, but a funny thought to think about.

If the void (from “The Amazing World Of Gumball”) had altered Princess Luna”s look (making her from season 2 onwards) and also erased the memories of the various ponies (except Twilight) so that they still saw her as Nightmare Moon (creating the episode “Luna Eclipsed”)? Interesting idea for a video. This topic is of course completely subjective, here are my thoughts: 1. Sombra\Lightning dust: can't decide between them. I liked Sombra in both appearances and him distroying the tree of harmony was impressive, while LD is not really evil but she is dangerous since she doesn't care about others well being whatsoever. 3. Trixie\Starlight\Nightmare moon: I like all of them for different reasons, Lunas backstory is by far the best but the actions and personality of the other 2 makes up for it. 6. Cozy glow: her motivation wasn't to bring back Tirek, she just used him for informations to gain power for herself. She is just so psychotic and crazy its fun to watch. 7. Chrysalis: the most disney like villain, arguably the main villain in the show. Gets carried away too easily but she was pretty succseful on her tries overall. Had the best and most complete arc from the villains, from the queen to losing her title, the revange and downfall. 8. Tempest: a very competent villain. 9. Discord: he was entertaining as a villain, however I think being neutral suits him being chaotic much more (he was at his best in season 4 in my opinion). 10. Tirek: not a big fan of his personallity but he is the most competent villain in the show proabably. 11. Maniac 12. storm king: disappointing villain overall but at least his personality and success put him above the rest. 13. Pony of shadows\stygion 13. Neighsay: his actions were bad but you can see his point of view, especially cosidering what happened shortly before. 14. garbel\cabelleron\Ahuizotl 15. F&F brothers I won't rate grogar since he really did not appear in the show and some other villains\antagonists would be ranked pretty high had they were on the list, like suri.

This was great list and i respect it the terrible trio were great villians each having their own positives and flaws Starlight had a great introduction and her reflrming was fine cause she had to grow mentally due to starlight not having a balance mind show multiple times throughout the series as for Discord it a tods up cause until season eight he was great reform villan on tilt he just cause conflict just for the sake of it like trying to becoming a teacher in the school of friendship which need control and order which chaos lacks and needs choas to exist plus causing the terrible trio to get gorgar bell as a test for Twilight who wrote in the script cause it would have been more satisfying to see grogar as the final boss due only being reveal recently at the time and had lore and was mysterious and understand friendship

They're ok as a team it is interesting to see old villains working together, but if grogar was real then the story would probably have been very different so I think him being discord is fine, although my opinion isnt the best to ask as I have only watched season 9 properly once or twice so I'm not really familiar with it at all

Ok, I might get pummeled for this, but Sombra is easily the worst main villain of the show and a C-tier villain at best. Sure, he had a mystery in his pressence in season 3 but he got defeated rather easily even compared to Nightmare Moon or Cozy Glow. Season 9 tried to reanimate him, but, eh..... I feel like all of the main villains acted like blind kittens not knowing what to do and they looked like wimps. But Sombra while being slightly intimidating just felt boring. I don't know, I've reread IDW comics too many times to appreciate its version of Sombra, both OG and parallel dimension Sombra that FIM Sombra just felt like an edgy cardboard in comparison.

If we're judging Discord solely as a villain, than yea S tier. As a character afterwards though, F tier, thanks to A Matter of Principles and his role as Grogar and in the finale. Starlight became a D tier villain the moment we heard her backstory. Becoming a supervillain over losing a single friend as a kid is just too lame and petty for me to get behind. Maybe I could buy it being enough motivation to start a cult, but ending the world over it, seriously. Her motivations could've been so easily fixed by showing that she's had not one, not two, but multiple falling outs with former friends thanks to the influence of cutie marks. As is, she's a joke to me.

if the writers give a longer backstory for Starlight. like what happened AFTER she lost her only friend. because in reality that shouldn't be to only reason to make you a cult leader. besides most cult leaders are sick as in ill or just insane. there should've been more after that story. you can tell some writers are just not creative or realistic villain buildup. we also have no backstory on why Discord even wanted to take over just equestria. but because of the rewriting. celestira said "he can over do things sometimes". saying he's not a true villain, just a big troublemaker. basically his whole character up to that point. the writing in the show can be ether random things or a missed opportunity for some characters. yeah I get that it's saying "we need to understand others more" but they keep counterdicting characters like Discord. ruinning the idea on trying to understand them.

yea, sry bout that, there were two tierlists as I said in the video and one of them had characters like Sunset Shimmer and Daybreaker which other people want, but it also had a bunch of smaller antagonistic character you couldn't classify as "villains" so to protect my sanity I did the tierlist with the main FiM villains that had the most screentime n stuff. Maybe at some other point I'll do a revamp where I do the other tierlist but for now I've been tierlisted out:)

chrysalis on S2. the writers have said in reality she have already won and toke over for awhile. if the storyline wasn't watered down. that I agreed on and that other reality already have prove that factor. and yeah Tirek was the only most powerful and there was no other villain or later seasons have shown any feats that out matches S4 Tirek. Discord's not a real villain from the start. not trying to be mean. if it wasn't for a fact they rewrite him. he would stay as a true villain and of course everyone has to fight him again on somepoint. because of the chaos that the other villains have caused. giving a message as long there's chaos he would always come back one way or another. and there's an argument about him testing twilight thing. Celestira have been testing twilight with so much crap and never trained her herself to be ether powerful or a good ruler. so Discord was in the right place. but yeah he over did it. that I agreed on. but what I don't agree on "he only did it because he's still chaotic. so it's EVIL" just shut up on that. that's a different opinion not a real reason. don't forget he's still learning. also not forget Celestira have "trained" Twilight alot longer than discord. sooo this is more of a one sided argument. Sombra have shown before last season he wasn't really all that powerful. but he's still a threat enough to take over any kingdom at anytime if left unchecked. both different reality and S9 have shown this fact. but that's hard to judge because the princesses were only acting they're weak. but sense he is darkness there well be light that well counter him. both crystal heart and the elements are filled with light. so if there ponies that knows light magic they could defeat him when there's a chance. even when the princesses by chance fail to do so. of course I'm talking about if he ever won and take over. than we would see a similar reality that we saw from the different timeline. Lighten Dust is just a "what if Rainbow toke another path in her if" type of character. there's always well be characters that just reflects the other with this writing. the characters them selfs don't have to show this example for the idea. Fim brothers are also this example for the apple family if they choose a different type of business. same with Starlight if Twilight haven't made any friends at all. but not 100% because Twilight would just be insane we know how she gets when has a mental breakdown. rather being a cult leader, she would find new magic to learn and could be more like Sunset when she was a villain. only difference that she would try to destroy equestria with little help. just only enough to defeat the princesses outright. why she would do it? watch The Folly of Celestia and you well get where I'm going with this. but that's only just one of the examples if she turns into a villain outright. the point is if the show wasn't watered down for kids and fans. it would've been darker. much more than what the comics have shown. weeellllllll it would just be edgy dark rather the other dark that some people are thinking of. but hey that's a job for fan fiction writers. if they ever do it the right way. rather just creepypasta, in your face and ra$e dark. those 3 things are over used way to damn much in the media and it's already old for shock value rather a good dark story. shock values like that are only for people with fetish issues lets be honest. yeah I know people be on my butt with the Discord case. if you don't have anything new to say about it. than don't comment.
