I nearly cried at the moment of the final whistle. Knowing that my favorite team knocked-out the defending champions made me extremely happy. I always find MLS games to be more entertaining to watch in comparison to other CONCACAF leagues and anything in the UEFA.

Still the most intense atmosphere, the most vocal crowd, the happiest game ever at Red Bull Arena. 15,000 of the most passionate fans that sounded more like 40,000 at a freezing cold midweek game. This wasn't just "MLS Wild Card 2014" - this was for Henry's legacy, this was for the last 4 years of playoff failure, this was an entire generation's last chance. To turn it around like this was unbelievable, you only need to look at the celebrations to see how much it meant to everyone. One goal short from making the final.

bizarre cross but great finish by bwp. he amazingly stayed calm and collected while everyone else scrambled around. thats how the best goalscorers act under pressure

What I dont understand was what the hell the KC defense was doing. That ball was up in the there for like 10 minutes, and two guys dont bother picking up BWP who is RIGHT THERE? Its not like he made a defense-slicing run or anything. He literally stood right there, and neither of those two guys marked him. And like the commentator said, why didnt the keeper come and get it? Like wtf were they all thinking??? Im a fan of neither team, I just watch the MLS and during this game thats all I could think about after that goal. I was literally dumbfounded cuz I play defense for a living, and seeing that pissed me off. Fun game though

Look at KC's body language. They all thought the ball was going to driven in with pace so they took their eyes off the ball to position themselves for the cross, if you look at Collins he turned around right when the cross happened to cover Henry. Instead it was a floater. While they were looking around looking for that ball BWP was getting ready for the header. It caught them off guard. The only one to blame was the keeper because he saw it but he froze thinking it was going to be driven in but he had plenty of time to run up. Either way, Go NY! Hate Dwyer, Collins, Sapong, and the keeper (forgot his name).

soccerlover1598 I agree with you. The goalkeeper doubted himself and it seems that Matt besler and Collins were covering henry.

soccerlover1598 Collin and Besler probably thought Kronberg was going to come for that, as the ball was up in the air for, as you said, like 10 minutes, and any keeper worth his salt will come claim that. Overall, defensive suicide all around.

That was terrible marking on the second Red Bulls goal! The ball had freaking snow on it it was in the air for so long

Kansas City have Kromberg his chance to shine this season but honestly they need a new goalkeeper. His reactions are slow and he hasn't shown any positive signs to continue being starter for next season.

The defending on the winner was awful. Colin completely moves away from BWP, Kronberg stays home and Besler is left to pick up the mess. If you're gonna leave the golden boot open like that you deserve to lose.

Sporting has just looked plain bad the last few months. Their defense has gone to best in the league to below average. Changes need to happen.

As a Sporting KC fan I have to say that that was thee worst defensive play I've ever seen from them. Yes we are in need of a goalie. Kronberg is garbage. He lost us a few games throughout the season. But the team as a whole has struggled the whole season. Too many injuries. We will come back strong next season. Sporting KC, No Other Club!

This is why BWP deserves MVP. Yes he misses a lot of opportunities, but he is still the most consistent player in MLS. Fuck martins, keane, and nyugen, it's BWP
