Mlynařík dlouhoocasý (Aegithalos caudatus) patří k nejlepším stavitelům v ptačí říši. Jeho hnízdo je zcela uzavřená, protáhlá koule s úzkým vchodem nahoře z boku. Hnízdo staví oba rodiče 9-13 dnů. Celá stavba má rozměry až 23x12 cm, stěn jsou silné až 2,5 cm z mechů, lišejníků, lýka, povrch je dokonale maskován kousky kůry, pavučinami a kokony hmyzu, takže hnízdo je k nerozeznání od kmenu nebo větve, k níž je připevněno. Vnitřek hnízda je vždy vystlaný peříčky. Snůška 6-12 vajec je zahřívána oběma rodiči 13-14 dnů. Mláďata zůstanou v hnízdě 18-19 dnů a po vylétnutí se zdržují s rodiči. Dokonce jim pomáhají s výchovou mláďat z druhé snůšky. Totéž dělají páry, které nezaložily vlastní rodinu, takže celkem běžně krmí mladé i více dospělých ptáků. Mlynaříci se živí výhradně živočišnou potravou, hlavně larvami a vajíčky hmyzu, které sbírají až z těch nejtenčích větviček stromů a keřů.
U nás se můžeme setkat s dvěma poddruhy mlynaříků. Poddruh Mlynařík dlouhoocasý severoevropský (Aegithalos c. caudatus) má hlavu čistě bílou, poddruh Mlynařík dlouhoocasý středoevropský (Aegithalos c. europaeus) má nápadný černý obloukovitý pruh nad okem až do týlu. Často se také vyskytují kříženci se smíšenými znaky. Ve videu jsou natočená mláďata.

The Long-tailed Tit (Aegithalos caudatus) is one of the best builders in the bird kingdom. Its nest is a completely enclosed, elongated ball with a narrow entrance at the top of the side. Both parents build the nest in 9-13 days. The entire structure has dimensions up to 23x12 cm, the walls are up to 2.5 cm thick from mosses, lichens, burdock, the surface is perfectly camouflaged with pieces of bark, cobwebs and insect cocoons, so that the nest is indistinguishable from the trunk or branch to which it is attached. The inside of the nest is always lined with feathers. A clutch of 6-12 eggs is incubated by both parents for 13-14 days. The chicks stay in the nest for 18-19 days and stay with their parents after fledging. They even help them raise the young from the second clutch. Couples who have not started their own family do the same, so they quite commonly feed young and more adult birds. Millers feed exclusively on animal food, mainly insect larvae and eggs, which they collect from the thinnest twigs of trees and shrubs.
Here we can meet two subspecies of millers. The subspecies North European Long-tailed Tit (Aegithalos c. caudatus) has a pure white head, the subspecies Central European Long-tailed Tit (Aegithalos c. europaeus) has a striking black arc-shaped stripe above the eye to the nape.
