well no but $75 is crazy low. even when I was at the UFC gym I found it odd for only like $125 a month I could do Muay Thai, open sparring, BJJ, MMA, & strength and conditioning classes 3 months after enrolling the gym shuts down

This guy sounds full of himself. It’s 100% up to the person themselves to change their own life. Yeah he might be helping them along the way, that is true. However, it is completely up to the individual to make the decision to change their life, be accountable, be consistent & work hard. My former martial arts school/fitness center charged me a total of $143 for UNLIMITED classes & my gym now charges me $129 for unlimited classes & full access to the gym for my own workouts. This guy sounds a little too narcissistic for my liking. He needs to be humble.

I go to an mma gym at the moment and They have 4 classes, mma, Muay Thai, and boxing and gi/no gi jiujitsu with a fundamentals class twice a week. For EVERY class there’s a technique, for example, 1,2,3 low kick and the partner exchanges the same punch. Or one person jabs and the other defends. Then we go to a light spar or one doing offense and one doing defense. I don’t feel like their focused on development, but more so having people “feel” like their “fighters” for the day. Would this be worth staying at or finding a different place.

While that's good for finding friends and maybe losing a little weight it's not gonna do shit when it comes to a actual match while you guys are learning 1 or 2 techniques with every class the other gyms you have to face could be learning 6 different techniques per class( I don't know if any other gyms do that but that's how I was taught in Kansas lol) while I would say if ur trying to lose weight and just having fun u should maybe stay but if ur planning on going pro hell if ur just wanting to do amateur but still actually learn you should quit that gym

You need to find a hole in the wall gym, or like an American top team style gym. Hole in the walls are where grit and mentality develop. Big box gyms are where alot of refinement happens (especially on the fight team) ive done both. Developed my mentality in a small space with tough pros and then my skills went through the roof after making the fight team at a major gym.
@monkwushu2305
@monkwushu2305 Жыл бұрын
@@Soupy_bass that’s a good way of looking at it, building your grit and rawness at the smaller gym with pros and anyone else, then making that transition to “refinement” .

Honest question here…I’m opening my own Boxing and MMA training center here in TX. Back when I was still fighting I was primarily training on the west coast mostly in San Diego, all the big name gyms and everything else in between. Luckily I never had to pay for training throughout my career so price point is lost on me. What would you folks consider good value so that you don’t feel you’re priced out of the sport as far as memberships are concerned? What value is it your hoping to obtain at the price point you have in mind? What do y’all feel should and shouldn’t be included in the referenced price point?

I pay $200 a month, which comes out to $50 a week and $10 a day since I go 5 days a week. I feel it’s already too low for the amount of coaching I get. It’s not pricing people out, it’s keeping gyms in business.

No thanks. 😅 If you tried this where I’m from you’d go under before you knew it. Especially with gyms half that price. Good gyms. Multiple time world IBJJF champion charging a quarter of that less? Easy choice. Really you could just spend a lot more and fly out to Thailand. Then they’ll say “this training is worth 10 million dollars k thnx”. Then you goto buy some water “This water is the best water, 10,000 dollars.” If anything I’m VERY skeptical of people who charge too much.
